Rays Seeing Significant Trade Interest in Chris Archer rotoballer.com Sat 7/21/18 3:47 PM
The Tampa Bay Rays are reportedly seeing significant trade interest in starting pitcher Chris Archer. Archer is one of the best young pitchers available on the market and is under team control for another three seasons. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal notes however, that Archer needs to show that he has returned to pre-injury form in his final two starts before the deadline if he were to be moved. Archer has pitched to a 3-4 record with a 4.29 ERA and a 86/29 K/BB ratio in 2018. Teams like the Brew[...]

The Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin thinks the Tampa Bay Rays should trade starting pitcher Chris Archer and his team-friendly contract right now. He's owed just $27.5 million over the next three seasons. Archer wants to win right now, but he's also been injured this year and will need to pitch better before the trade deadline in order to attractive interested teams. He's gone 3-4 with a 4.29 ERA this year and missed around a month with an abdominal strain. The Rays also won't get as much for Arch[...]

Chris Archer With Short Outing Saturday Versus Minnesota rotoballer.com Sat 7/14/18 11:11 PM
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer made his second start since his return Saturday versus the Twins. The hope was that he would go fairly deep but he lasted only 4 1/3 innings allowing two runs (one earned). He was fairly solid but the Twins worked some long at-bats and got him up to 93 pitches when he was pulled. Archer should continue to build up his stamina and coaches' faith going forward. He has the potential to be a SP2 going forward.
