Chris Archer Solid In Last Outing Before Deadline rotoballer.com Fri 7/27/18 9:43 PM
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer made his last outing before the trade deadline Friday versus Baltimore. He would go six innings allowing four runs (three earned). His strikeout count was a bit disappointing at three considering he had 13 Ks in his last outing. There have been several teams inquiring about Archer so there is a chance that he gets traded. If he does, his value will depend on the landing spot. Archer has been a strong strikeout artist in his career so, with the right [...]
Cardinals Showing Interest in Chris Archer rotoballer.com Fri 7/27/18 8:26 AM
The long list of teams interested in Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer gets bigger on Friday. There is a chance that Archer is making his last start for the Rays on Friday. The Cardinals are without some key starters including ace Carlos Martinez (oblique). It appears the Cards are not throwing in the towel and are in on the Archer sweepstakes. It's unclear the amount of interest the Cardinals truly have, but adding Archer could be a solid long-term investment for St. Louis.

Padres Not Willing To Trade Top Prospects For Chris Archer rotoballer.com Wed 7/25/18 4:08 PM
The San Diego Padres have inquired about Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer, but they are unwilling to include prospects Fernando Tatis Jr. or MacKenzie Gore, who are their top two prospects. San Diego is believed to be willing to give up one or two of their next three prospects from MLB.com's top-30 list. Tatis is having surgery on a fractured thumb, but he should be back next year and had 16 homers and 16 steals at Double-A. Gore, a left-hander, is just 1-5 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.29 E[...]
Padres Making Push For Chris Archer rotoballer.com Tue 7/24/18 8:43 AM
The San Diego Padres are making a "big push" to land Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer. However, any potential deal looks like a long shot because his team-friendly deal pays him just $7.5 million next year with club options for 2021 and 2022. The Padres would have to part with several young prospects in order to land him. Archer has dealt with injuries this year and has been up and down, but he's still striking out 9.9 hitters per nine innings and had a season-high 13 punchouts his l[...]
Yankees Inquiring On Chris Archer rotoballer.com Mon 7/23/18 9:39 AM
The New York Yankees are among the teams that have asked about Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer. However, other teams are skeptical that the Rays will move Archer, who is on a team-friendly deal, within their division. Archer has been rather disappointing for fantasy owners in 2018, mainly due to injuries. He has a 4.30 ERA, 1.38 [...]
Chris Archer, Zach Britton Being Eyed By Brewers rotoballer.com Mon 7/23/18 7:21 AM
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer and Baltimore Orioles reliever Zach Britton are reportedly being targeting by the Milwaukee Brewers. According to Ken Rosenthal, the Brewers — who were in on the Manny Machado sweepstakes — have turned their attention to upgrading their pitching staff. The Brewers are currently trying to keep up with the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central, and getting arms like Archer's and Britton's would certainly help. Britton would provide quality lef[...]
Chris Archer Fans 13 Sunday Versus Miami rotoballer.com Sun 7/22/18 11:08 PM
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer struck out 13 batters Sunday versus the Marlins. He would last six innings allowing four runs (three earned) and leave trailing. Archer was saved from taking the loss when the Rays came back to win in the bottom of the ninth. He has been speculated to be on the trade market and as such, this performance probably helped the cause. Archer has the talent to be a top pitcher but his stats outside of strikeouts do not show an elite pitcher this season.
