The Angels recalled Silseth from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement in the bullpen for right-hander Austin Warren, who was placed on the 15-day injured list with elbow discomfort. While he's worked as a starter in the minors, Silseth will have to settle for a long-relief role, at least for the time being. In light of the recent struggles of Jose Suarez, however, Silseth could end up stepping into the Angels' six-man rotation sooner rather than later.

Silseth is being recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake by the Angels on Wednesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth was scratched from his start for Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, but it's not related to the blister issue that saw him leave his previous start but instead because he'll be an option for the Los Angeles bullpen. The right-hander will replace Austin Warren with Warren coming down with an undisclosed injury before Tuesday's win over the A's. Silseth could make starts for the Angels before the end of the year, but fantasy GMs will want to see him added to the rotation before adding him to their roster.

Silseth (finger) was scratched from his start for Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Taylor Blake Ward of The Sporting Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth left his start with the Bees on Thursday with a blister issue, so it's very possible the right-hander's absence is related to that issue. The 22-year-old is considered one of the best pitching prospects in the system, and he could be making starts for the Angels this summer if healthy.

Silseth departed his Triple-A start due to a blister after tossing five innings Wednesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth was great again for Salt Lake City in the outing, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out two batters over five scoreless frames. He's put together a 0.90 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB through four starts covering 20 innings in the minors this season, but it's uncertain if the blister will slow his momentum by causing him to miss time. If he's fine moving forward, Silseth would be among the top candidates for a call-up should the Angels need a spot starter, an injury fill-in, or a replacement for the struggling Jose Suarez.

Silseth has gone 2-0 through his first two starts this season with Triple-A Salt Lake, allowing three hits and posting a 13:3 K:BB over 11 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth opened the season with five shutout innings against Sacramento, then outdid himself with six shutout innings, during which he gave up only one hit, against Albuquerque. The right-hander struggled in his first taste of the majors last season, posting a 6.59 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 28.2 innings over seven starts. However, he's one of the Angels' top pitching prospects and could certainly get another chance in the big club's rotation this season, especially if he continues dominating in the minors like he has so far.

Silseth will begin the 2023 campaign with Triple-A Salt Lake, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth was unsuccessful in his bid to grab a big-league rotation spot with the Angels to begin the campaign, so he'll instead see his first action at the Triple-A level. The right-hander was chosen to be Salt Lake's Opening Day starter, and that assignment should come Saturday with Friday's contest rained out. Silseth got into seven major-league games last season and could be among the top candidates for a call-up if a spot in the rotation opens up.

Silseth was optioned to the minor-leagues by the Angels on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth struggled in the majors last season after getting called up from Double-A, logging a 6.59 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through 28.2 innings. The 22-year-old righty will most likely start the season with Triple-A Salt Lake, but could return to the big leagues if he performs well enough there.

Silseth has added a new cutter to his arsenal this season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth already had a variety of pitches to go to -- per Statcast, he threw five different pitches during his time in the majors last year. The cutter is new wrinkle, and he believes that it could help him against left-handed hitters, per Bollinger. Silseth dominated at the Double-A level last season, but he struggled during a call-up to the majors, posting a 6.59 ERA (5.97 FIP) over 28.2 innings. He's competing for the Angels' sixth-starter job this spring, though he'll most likely open the 2023 campaign with Triple-A Salt Lake.

Silseth could win a spot in the Angels' rotation this spring, but he is more likely to start the season in the minors, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels seemingly have five of six rotation spots accounted for, with Jaime Barria, Tucker Davidson, Griffin Canning, Chris Rodriguez and Silseth competing for the sixth spot. Silseth has a higher long-term ceiling than most of his competitors, but is also the least experienced of the bunch, so it would make sense for him to open the year in the minors. The 22-year-old righty logged a 2.28 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and a 34.4 percent strikeout rate in 15 starts at Double-A. He has never pitched at Triple-A, but gave up 21 earned runs with 24 strikeouts in 28.2 innings in the majors last year.

Silseth won't start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mariners, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Silseth was expected to be called up to start Saturday's matinee, but Touki Toussaint will ultimately draw the start. Silseth carries a 2.01 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 40.1 innings over eight minor-league starts this year and will be a strong candidate to be called up if the Angels need a spot starter down the stretch.
