Blackmon will return to the lineup in Saturday's matchup with the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies opted to rest Blackmon on Friday in order to avoid a tough lefty-versus-lefty matchup against Madison Bumgarner. He will return to the lineup Saturday however, resuming his center field duties and batting lead-off. Blackmon is 3-for-12 with one RBI in his career versus Johnny Cueto.

Blackmon is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Madison Bumgarner due up for San Francisco, Blackmon will take a seat in favor of Gerardo Parra in center field. Ryan Raburn will man left as DJ LeMahieu slots in atop the batting order. Blackmon is 8-for-28 with two doubles and a homer since his return from the DL late last month.

Blackmon opened Tuesday's contest in San Diego with a lead-off home run, ultimately finishing 1-for-4.
EDGE Analysis
This was Blackmon's first long ball of the season, but there should be plenty more to come now that he's no longer bothered by a turf toe injury. He has averaged 18 homers per year over his two full major-league seasons, and will once again be counted upon to provide a healthy mix of speed and power atop the Rockies order moving forward.

Blackmon (toe) has been activated off the disabled list and will bat leadoff Friday against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brandon Barnes was optioned to Triple-A on Friday in a corresponding move to activate Blackmon off the DL. Blackmon initially landed on the disabled list due to a turf toe injury, but was able to return to the Rockies after the minimum 15-day requirement. He'll draw back into the leadoff spot Friday against Arizona lefty Robbie Ray.

Manager Walt Weiss said that Blackmon (toe) will likely join the team Friday for the weekend series in Arizona, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon completed his second rehab game with High-A Modesto on Wednesday and went 1-for-4 with a run. The outfielder seems to be doing better given that he was able to play in back-to-back games, but it is unclear if he'll be able to suit up for the series opener Friday. His status should become clearer as Friday's game time approaches.

Blackmon (toe) began his rehab assignment with High-A Modesto on Tuesday and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon stayed on schedule with his rehab process with Tuesday's appearance and is expected to play in one more game with Modesto. He'll become eligible to come off the disabled list Friday, although his status for the weekend series will become more clear once he completes the second game of his rehab assignment.

Blackmon (toe) was able to participate in outfield drills and take batting practice Saturday, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon wore turf shoes for the aforementioned drills, but is expected to give them a try with normal spikes Sunday. In a best-case scenario, the progress there would be encouraging enough for him to begin a brief rehab stint early this week, which could open the door for him to return for the weekend series against the Diamondbacks. With that return date uncertain, however, the outfield isn't necessarily a guarantee for weekly lineups that lock on Mondays.

Blackmon (turf toe) is angling toward a two-game rehab stint next week, although nothing definitive has been reported regarding when he could rejoin the Rockies, the Denver Post's Nick Groke reports.
EDGE Analysis
Presumably, if the rehab games go well, Blackmon could be on the brink of rejoining the Rockies, but the return from turf toe is often a very fluid situation, so owners should be careful not to bank on his services next weekend. Ryan Raburn and Ben Paulsen will continue to handle most of the duties in left field while Gerardo Parra mans center field in Blackmon's absence.

Blackmon (toe) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon is suffering from turf toe and will now be sent to the DL in order to free up a roster spot for catcher Dustin Garneau. It is expected that Gerardo Parra will start in center field while Ben Paulsen plays left field in his absence. The 29-year-old hit .287 with 17 home runs, 93 runs scored, and 43 stolen bases in 2015, so this will hurt both the Rockies, as well as fantasy teams, over the next couple weeks.

Blackmon hurt his toe in Wednesday's game, which is why he is out of Thursday's lineup against the Giants, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
EDGE Analysis
He injured the toe diving back to second base and then exited late in Wednesday's game. Considering Blackmon has a history of turf toe, this is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Gerardo Parra, who is starting in center field Thursday, would likely take over in center going forward if Blackmon misses more time, and Brandon Barnes, Ben Paulsen and Ryan Raburn would be tasked with handling left field. Consider Blackmon day-to-day for now.
