Lawrence (0-3) allowed six runs on 10 hits and three walks with a strikeout over five innings in Thursday's loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
With the team's pitching staff already taxed, manager John Gibbons had no choice but to endure a bumpy ride with Lawrence in the nightcap of Thursday's doubleheader. His ability to gut through five innings did help minimize the wear after the Jays used six pitchers in the early game, but the right-hander's valor won't save his job. The start was likely Lawrence's last in the rotation for now, as he is expected to be bumped when Aaron Sanchez (finger) returns from the disabled list this week.

Lawrence will take the mound for the second game in the Blue Jays' doubleheader with the Cardinals on Thursday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lawrence was originally scheduled to start Thursday, but Wednesday's rainout put those plans in the air. Fortunately, the Blue Jays and Cardinals are going to have a day-night doubleheader Thursday to make up the postponed game, meaning that Lawrence will take the hill as scheduled. He'll look to improve from his last start in which he gave up five runs (four earned) in 6.1 innings en route to the loss.

Lawrence has been confirmed as Toronto's starter Saturday against the Angels, Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was the favorite to land the second spot start of the weekend, with Mat Latos getting the other, and that came to fruition. Lawrence will face Tyler Skaggs and the Halos after notching a 1.80 ERA and seven strikeouts in five innings (two starts) for Triple-A Buffalo. However, he has not gone more than three innings in a start this season, so he is not a good bet to go more than around five innings in this start. With J.A. Happ (elbow) expected back fairly soon, this could just be a spot start for Lawrence.

Lawrence is a leading candidate to make a spot start in the Blue Jays' upcoming weekend series with the Angels, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old struggled in his first cup of coffee with Toronto, but he's excelled enough at the Triple-A level (1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP in two starts) to warrant consideration for another shot with the big-league club. If this plan does come to fruition, Lawrence would line up to face either Tyler Skaggs or Jesse Chavez in southern California.

Lawrence was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Roberto Osuna (neck) coming off the disabled list, the club opted to send Lawrence back to its Triple-A affiliate. Lawrence struggled during his first-ever stint in the majors, as he allowed three runs off three hits and five walks over two innings (two games).

Lawrence was recalled by the Blue Jays on Saturday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was expected to start the season opener for Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday and instead could be on hand for his major-league debut. If he does get a chance, it will likely come out of the bullpen since he replaced reliever Dominic Leone with the call-up. Lawrence has steadily built up a solid starter reputation in Triple-A over six seasons, but it remains to be seen whether that success will transfer to the majors. After posting a 3.86 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP over seven Grapefruit League games, Toronto is willing to give him a shot, but it may be a short one with Roberto Osuna (neck) on the mend.
