ADP Champ or Chump - Jesus Aguilar and David Dahl rotoballer.com Thu 2/21/19 6:45 AM

Sometimes, it can be tough to turn away from the waiver wire guys who helped your team the previous year. Jesus Aguilar likely won some leagues with his 35-homer campaign out of nowhere last season. Likewise, David Dahl provided juice in all categories when he saw the field in 2018.Unfortunately, adding somebody for free off of waivers is very different from investing an early draft pick in them. Advanced metrics suggest that both players above are likely to disappoint their fantasy owners based[...]

Ken Rosenthal, followed by Jeff Passan, Joel Sherman and Jayson Stark, recently reported on negotiations between MLB and the Player's Association, especially regarding the rulebook. One of the most provocative pieces in the overarching story has been the possibility of the designated hitter coming to the National League as soon as this coming season. *cuesad tromboneRob Manfred squashed that idea, saying it won't happen until 2022 at the earliest when the CBA is negotiated, but this story is a re[...]

Carlos Gonzalez Remains Out of the Lineup rotoballer.com Tue 9/25/18 7:33 PM

Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez (rest) remains out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. This now marks the fourth straight game that Gonzalez has been out of the starting lineup. David Dahl will play right field and bat third against righty Vince Velasquez. Dahl is hitting .299/.356/.558 with eight home runs and 25 RBI off right-handed pitching this season. He should be a reliable option for Tuesday.

Welcome to Week 25 of the Cut List. This week I'm taking a look at Adam Jones, Carlos, Gonzalez, Odubel Herrera, and Starlin Castro.   All four players should be cut in most standard shallow formats. We're in the thick of the fantasy playoff season and we need to own players who are actually producing results. These four players are not.   Want some waiver wire advice to make up for those necessary cuts? Make sure you check out our waiver wire blog for the best pickup cons[...]
