Estevez allowed a hit and struck out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-0 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez didn't receive Philadelphia's last save chance, which went to Jeff Hoffman on Thursday. Hoffman handled the eighth inning Saturday against the top of Atlanta's lineup while Estevez worked through the heart of the lineup in the ninth. Estevez has allowed five runs (three earned) over 12.2 innings while earning three saves across 12 appearances since he was traded from the Angels. He now has a 2.31 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 44:8 K:BB with 23 saves in 27 chances this year. Manager Rob Thomson looks to be sticking with a committee approach to closing, with Estevez, Hoffman and Jose Alvarado all in the mix for high-leverage spots.

Estevez allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
This was the fifth time in nine appearances with the Phillies that Estevez has allowed multiple baserunners, but he was able to avoid giving up a run this time. Wednesday was also his first outing since he blew a save versus the Nationals last Friday. Estevez is up to 22 saves on the year, but he's earned just two of them since he was traded from the Angels to the Phillies. He's added a 2.47 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 42:8 K:BB through 43.2 innings this year. Estevez appears to have the edge over Jeff Hoffman and Jose Alvarado for save chances, as neither of those relievers has logged a save in August, though Philadelphia hasn't generated many opportunities this month.

Estevez (2-4) blew the save but picked up the win in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Nationals, giving up two runs on three hits in the ninth inning. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander entered the game with Philadelphia ahead 2-0, but he gave up three straight singles to open the ninth before a Jacob Young fielder's choice tied it up. Estevez was able to right the ship and get off the mound without any further damage, and Trea Turner then walked it off in the bottom of the frame. Estevez has been effective since coming over from the Angels at the trade deadline, posting a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB through 8.2 innings, but he has only one win and one save in eight appearances.

Estevez picked up the save over the Diamondbacks on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits over one inning while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez entered the game with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and surrendered a leadoff single to Geraldo Perdomo before fanning the next two batters. The recently acquired reliever would then cough up an RBI single to Jake McCarthy, but Estevez went on to retire the final batter for his 22nd save of the season and his first in a Phillies uniform. It marked the first earned run charged to Estevez since May 20 when he was still an Angel, and he's recorded at least one strikeout in each of his last four appearances.

Estevez (1-4) was charged with the loss in an extra-inning battle against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on two walks over 1.2 innings while also hitting a batter with a pitch. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez entered the game with the score tied in the bottom of the ninth and retired the side on 12 pitches before being brought back out for the 10th. The right-hander then proceeded to intentionally walk Cal Raleigh to open the frame before recording outs in the next two at-bats. However, things fell apart for Estevez after he hit Dylan Moore in the following at-bat, then walked Mitch Haniger to send home the winning run for Seattle. The two walks on the night marked a season high for the reliever, while the run that came home, albeit unearned, was the first that scored on his watch since May 21 against the Astros.

Estevez, when asked Monday what his role with the Phillies would be, responded, "I'm down for whatever, man," Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez was acquired in a trade with the Angels on Saturday, with pitching prospects George Klassen and Samuel Aldegheri going the other way. Estevez saved 20 games and produced a 2.38 ERA and 0.74 WHIP prior to the move, but his new manager Rob Thomson typically preferred a committee approach. Estevez may well be ahead of both Jose Alvarado (13 saves) and Jeff Hoffman (nine saves) on the closer depth chart, but his share of the ninth inning will likely be smaller than it was in Los Angeles.

The Angels traded Estevez to Philadelphia on Saturday in exchange for George Klassen and Samuel Aldegheri.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez was one of the top closers available at the deadline, logging 20 saves in 23 chances this season with a 2.38 ERA and 0.74 WHIP. He'll join a Phillies bullpen that opened the season deploying Jose Alvarado in the ninth inning before turning to Jeff Hoffman late in June with Alvarado occasionally mixing in. Without a clear top closer, Estevez has a chance to step into a ninth-inning role for the MLB-leading 64-39 Phillies.

Estevez pitched a perfect inning against the Mariners on Wednesday to earn a save.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez needed just nine pitches to set the Mariners down in order and preserve a 2-1 victory. The right-hander continued his run of dominance, as he's now held the opponent without an earned run in 19 straight appearances covering 18.1 innings. Over that span, Estevez has gone 13-for-13 in save chances and has posted a minuscule 0.38 WHIP.

Estevez struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez dispatched the middle of the Mariners' lineup on nine pitches, all of which were strikes. This was Estevez's 17th scoreless outing in a row, a span in which he's allowed just three hits while posting a 15:2 K:BB and 12 of his 19 saves for the year. While the Angels haven't been particularly good, he's functioned as a top-10 closer this season. Estevez has added a 2.45 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 32:5 K:BB through 33 innings.

Estevez picked up his 18th save of the season in Sunday's 8-5 win over the Athletics, tossing a scoreless ninth inning while allowing a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Estevez made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Lawrence Butler but went on to retire the next three batters in order to shut the door. He's now converted each of his last 12 saves and hasn't given up an earned run since May 20, a span of 18 appearances. Estevez's name has been swirling in trade talks, and if he is dealt at the deadline there's no guarantee he'd still be the closer for his new team. The 31-year-old owns a 2.53 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB in 32 innings.
