Correa's rib injury may sideline him for the next couple weeks according to general manager Jeff Luhnow, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear if Luhnow was referring to a precise timeline for Correa. The shortstop is visiting a doctor Tuesday to determine the extent of his injury. Luhnow did downplay the idea that Correa's injury would be a long-term one, but a trip to the injured list does appear likely.

Correa remains on the bench Tuesday against the Cubs, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There have yet to be reports of an injury, but it would be quite surprising if Correa wasn't at least dealing with something minor. Jack Mayfield starts at shortstop in his absence.

The 24-year-old was 5-for-27 over his last eight games entering the contest, but he had no issues Saturday and collected his fifth three-hit game of the year.

Correa went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-0 win over Kansas City.

One day after his 16-game hit streak was snapped. Correa began a new one with his ninth homer of the season. He's homered in three of the previous four games. Correa went 3-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in the Astros' 6-4 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Correa didn't need long to extend his hitting streak to 16 games, as he took Jakob Junis deep to center field in his first at-bat of the evening. It was the eighth home run of the season and second in as many days for Correa, who has bounced back nicely from an injury-riddled 2018 campaign. Something that may bear watching, however, is the decline in plate discipline he's noticed early on. His 8.2 percent walk rate is the lowest mark of his career, while his 26.1 percent strikeout rate is his highest.
