Beltran is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Athletics, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

EDGE Analysis

Beltran has picked things up at the plate after a sluggish start to the month, as he has five hits in the past four games. He'll head to the bench for a night off, however, with Evan Gattis taking over as the designated hitter for the evening.

Beltran went 1-for-5 with his eighth homer of the year, two RBI, two runs and three strikeouts against the Royals on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

He's been flashing the ol' power lately, compiling a .308/.372/.667 batting line with four homers and 10 RBI over his last nine games. That's quite the change of pace after Beltran put up a .652 OPS over his first 42 contests this season. He looked rejuvenated at age 39 last year, but Beltran hasn't been able to carry that over now that he's 40. Of course, he looked ready for the dustbin in 2014, only to recover with two more productive seasons, so it's hard to count Beltran out quite yet. He retains some fantasy value in deeper formats and is worth monitoring in shallower ones in case this hot run continues.

Beltran went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's win over the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Beltran hit a 423-foot bomb off Andrew Cashner in the second inning to get the Astros on the board, then added a two-run single in the next inning to give them the lead. He now has three long balls in his last six games, bringing his total to seven for the year. Beltran's stats don't jump off the page, but he still finds himself batting in the middle of one of game's best lineups, so look for him to be productive as long as he does.

Beltran is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Twins, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

It appears to be a routine day off for Beltran, who went 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout Tuesday night. George Springer will take over the DH role and Jake Marisnick slides into center field.

Beltran went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run and three runs during Monday's win over Minnesota.

EDGE Analysis

It was just the sixth home run and 18th RBI of the season for the veteran, and Beltran owns an underwhelming .253/.301/.424 slash line. It wouldn't be shocking if the 40-year-old outfielder began to pick it off offensively, but Father Time might have also finally caught up to Beltran. Nonetheless, Monday's huge game was encouraging.

Beltran batted sixth for the first time this season and went 1-for-4 with a home run in Friday's 2-0 win over the Orioles.

EDGE Analysis

Beltran has not been the impact bat Houston thought it was getting when the team signed him during the offseason. Hence, manager A.J. Hinch's decision to drop to the six-hole after he'd previously hit second, fourth or fifth. After a night off Thursday, Beltran returned to the lineup Friday with a .234/.278/.373 slash line in 158 at-bats. Opportunities out of the six-hole will be fewer than if Beltran were comfortably ensconced with Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa, but he has a proven track record as a hitter and could earn his way back up the order.

Beltran is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers.

EDGE Analysis

Beltran is in the midst of a brutal 6-for-37 (.162) slide over his past 10 games, so he'll head to the bench to clear his mind. Evan Gattis will serve as the DH, opening up a spot for Juan Centeno to start behind the dish.
