The Miami Marlins have recalled relief pitcher Javy Guerra from Triple-A. Caleb Smith was moved to the 60-day DL in a corresponding move. Guerra appeared in 17 games with the Marlins in 2017, pitching to a 3.00 ERA and a 12/7 K/BB ratio. He'll function in middle relief and hold no fantasy value.

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Caleb Smith (shoulder) left Sunday's start against Colorado due to left shoulder tightness. When Smith first exited it was believed to be a groin injury, but unfortunately the injury was to his throwing shoulder. Miami Marlins starting pitcher Caleb Smith was reinstated from the bereavement list on Monday and will start against the San Francisco Giants. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Merandy Gonzalez was optioned to Double-A Jacksonville. Smith has pitched well so far this season with a 5-6 record, a 3.75 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 83 strikeouts in 72 innings. Smith is worth a look in deeper fantasy formats due to his solid start to the season and his strikeout potential.
