Joseph (groin) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph took a foul ball to the groin area during Monday's loss to Boston, and he'll now head to the DL after undergoing further tests Tuesday morning. The team is yet to provide an official diagnosis, but Joseph will be forced to remain out until June 14, at the earliest. The Orioles recalled Francisco Pena from Triple-A Norfolk to assume Joseph's roster spot for the time being. Pena, known mostly for his defensive abilities, is hitting just .200/.241/.250 in 24 Triple-A games.

Joseph will go to the hospital for further tests on his midsection after he was struck by a foul ball Monday, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph managed to stay in the game after taking a tough shot, but the team will send him for further tests nonetheless. Consider the backstop day-to-day until the results are officially disclosed.

Joseph went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Thursday's loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph has gone 54 at-bats without an RBI for the Orioles this season. Matt Wieters is now catching on consecutive days and that should cut into the type of workload that Joseph enjoyed last season and in April. The .234/.299/.394 season he enjoyed in 2015 is nowhere to be found this season, as Joseph has a .037 ISO and is hitting ground balls at a clip of 43.9 percent.

Joseph is batting eighth and starting behind the plate Wednesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Continuing to alternate games with Matt Wieters, Joseph doesn't provide quite the same pop that Wieters does. He's hitting .212 with one extra-base hit. He has drawn three walks in his past two games after drawing just one in his first nine games.

Joseph is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph is alternating days with Matt Wieters as the Orioles continue to nurse the health of their star catcher. Joseph has hits in four of his last five appearances, but is hitting just .250 on the season with one extra-base hit.

Joseph is starting Friday, MASN Sports reports, and it appears he is on a schedule to start every other game.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph's playing time has been determined by the health of Matt Wieters, whose elbow still seems to be a concern to the organization. Wieters has not started on consecutive games since returning from his elbow surgery last year. In two catcher leagues, Joseph and Wieters would make a logical pair with the predictable playing time. Joseph is not too shabby of a bat after popping 11 home runs in his part time role last season. Combined with Wieters, the two could tally a home run total in the mid-20s this season.

Joseph will bat ninth and start behind the plate Wednesday against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph hasn't seen a ton of playing time this season, making only his fifth start on Wednesday, and is 3-for-14 in those games. He'll give Matt Wieters a reprieve on Wednesday, but Wieters is firmly entrenched as the full-time starter behind the plate.

Joseph will bat eighth and start behind the plate Wednesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph has gotten two starts this season, grabbing one hit in those two games with a pair of runs scored. As long as Matt Wieters is healthy, he'll be the team's primary catcher, but Joseph showed good power as the team's starter last year, hitting 11 home runs in 100 games.

Joseph will be the Orioles' starting catcher Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Regular catcher Matt Wieters missed a good portion of spring training due to injury, so manager Buck Showalter will give Joseph the start Thursday in order to give Wieters some rest after back-to-back starts. It remains to be seen where Joseph will be placed in the batting order, but he batted most often and had his most success in the nine hole last season.

Joseph (illness) played Sunday and was in the lineup for Monday's Grapefruit League game, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joseph is just 1-for-16 with a single and two strikeouts this spring. However, there is some genuine concern about the health of Matt Wieters (elbow), which could mean Joseph will enter the season as the starter. In AL only leagues, it could be a good idea to marry up Wieters and Joseph.
