Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
His fifth-inning shot completed the Phillies' comeback from an early 4-0 deficit, and four relievers then combined to make the slender lead hold up. Hernandez now has a career-high 12 homers and 52 RBI on the year while tying his personal best in runs with 85, but his .257 batting average remains far below the .294 marks he posted in each of the last two seasons.

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has been dropped in the order lately, batting ninth or seventh in his last three appearances. He earned that demotion after a very poor August in which he hit just .215 with a .631 OPS. Tuesday's output was a step in the right direction, though he'll need a run of similar games if he's to reclaim his spot atop the Phillies' order, especially with Roman Quinn (who's led off five of the last eight games) hitting an excellent .346/.363/.538.

Hernandez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
After batting third in the series opener Friday, the struggling Hernandez dropped all the way to the ninth spot in the order Saturday and will now find himself out of the starting nine entirely. It's unlikely that Hernandez has surrendered his everyday role at second base, but he could be rested more frequently in September in light of his lackluster production at the dish during the second half. Over 151 at-bats since the All-Star break, Hernandez is hitting .212 with three home runs and three stolen bases.

Hernandez is batting third for the first time this season Monday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Monday's game is the first time Hernandez has been anywhere other than in the leadoff spot this year. It would be a surprise if the move is a permanent one, as the second baseman's skillset is far more suited to a leadoff role than to a spot in the middle of the order; his on-base percentage (.366) is higher than his slugging percentage (.365) this season. If he does stick in the third spot, expect a slight uptick in RBI paired with a slight downturn in runs.

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a walk, a steal, an RBI double and three runs scored in the second half of Thursday's doubleheader against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez was poor along with most of his teammates in the blowout lost in the first game of the day, but came alive for the nightcap. He stole home with an excellent slide while Nick Williams was caught in a rundown in the second inning, his 15th steal of the season. He's on pace for 20 steals, which would beat his career high by one. The second baseman has also already set a career high with 10 homers.

Hernandez hit a pinch-hit double in Sunday's loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has been on the bench for four of the Phillies' last eight games while battling lingering foot soreness dating back to when he fouled a ball off his foot in early July. The recent acquisition of Asdrubal Cabrera means that the Phillies could theoretically give Hernandez 10 days of rest in the form of a trip to the disabled list, but the fact that he's appeared off the bench on all four occasions suggests that the team doesn't think he needs that kind of time off, so no such move seems imminent.

Hernandez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
With the Phillies inserting new acquisition Asdrubal Cabrera at second base in the series finale, Hernandez will head to the bench for the second time in four games. Rookie Scott Kingery and third baseman Maikel Franco are seemingly more at risk of losing out on at-bats to Cabrera, but the latter's addition to the roster should also result in Hernandez missing out on more starts than he otherwise would receive.

Hernandez is not in the lineup versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez went 0-for-7 with four strikeouts during Tuesday's game. That marked his first game back in the lineup since Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader due to some lingering foot soreness, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see him receive a day off, especially following Tuesday's 16-inning affair. Jesmuel Valentin will start at second base and bat eighth.

Hernandez (foot) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez had been out of the lineup for the past two games while dealing with lingering foot soreness which dated back to when he fouled a ball off his foot in early July. The issue is evidently not a major one, as he was able to come in off the bench in both games and is now back in the lineup. Given that he missed time over two weeks after the incident occurred, however, it wouldn't be surprising to see him sit again in the near future.

Hernandez's absence from the last two lineups is due to lingering foot soreness, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez missed a pair of games on July 7 and 8 after fouling a ball off his right foot, though he was able to start the next 10 games and hit .317 over that stretch. He apparently needs a little more rest, though the Phillies expect him to return Tuesday.
