Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI in a loss to the Giants on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Each of Hernadez's hits were singles, including a grounder up the middle that plated two runs in the third inning. The three-hit game was his seventh of the season but first since June 30. Overall, the 29-year-old is slashing .283/.328/.400 with eight homers and 51 RBI in 478 at-bats.

Hernandez will start at second base and bat leadoff Thursday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
With Scott Kingery slumping at the plate of late, manager Gabe Kapler will turn to Hernandez as the team's table setter for the second straight day. Though his walk rate has slipped considerably in 2019, Hernandez's high-contact ways and good speed make him a decent fit atop the lineup. At least until Kingery pares down his strikeouts, Hernandez should have a good chance of sticking as the club's primary leadoff man and enjoying a spike in run-scoring and base-stealing opportunities as a result.

Hernandez is not in the lineup Saturday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez is slashing just .241/.255/.278 in 13 games since the All-Star break, so he'll head to the bench Saturday with lefty Max Fried starting for the Braves. In his place, Scott Kingery is starting at second base and hitting leadoff.

Hernandez will bat leadoff and start at second base Wednesday against the Tigers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Gabe Kapler has elected to bump slumping leadoff man Scott Kingery down to second in the order, opening up the table-setting role for Hernandez in the series finale. The lineup adjustment may only be a temporary one for the Phillies, as Hernandez hasn't been demonstrably better than Kingery of late. Over 11 games since the All-Star break, Hernandez is slashing .200/.217/.222.

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has a .364/.394/.443 slash line in his last 23 games, but he'll take a seat Sunday. Scott Kingery steps in at second base while Adam Haseley starts in center field in the series finale.

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a double, run and an RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez is in the midst of his best stretch of the season, with Wednesday's effort marking the sixth straight game in which he's recorded multiple hits. Though he wasn't able to lock down the leadoff job following Andrew McCutchen's (knee) season-ending injury earlier this month, Hernandez should still offer solid across-the-board production even while batting in the lower half of a strong Phillies lineup. He'll pick up another start at second base in Thursday's series finale and move up from seventh to sixth in the order with J.T. Realmuto getting a breather.

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 6-5 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
His fourth-inning solo shot off Touki Toussaint gave the Phillies a brief 4-2 lead, and Hernandez then smacked a two-run single in the ninth to cap the scoring on the night. It was his seventh homer on the year but first since May 28, and the 29-year-old slashed a brutal .121/.188/.190 during the 15-game power outage, The Phillies are still trying to find a solution in the leadoff spot in the wake of Andrew McCutchen's season-ending knee injury, though, so if Hernandez can heat up again he might get another look at the top of the order.

Hernandez will bat eighth Friday against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez spent eight games as the leadoff hitter after Andrew McCutchen was lost for the season with a torn ACL, but he hit just .125/.222/.188 over that stretch. He'll move to a lower-pressure spot for now, with Jean Segura sliding up to the leadoff spot.

Manager Gabe Kapler acknowledged after Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks that he may consider removing Hernandez from the leadoff role in favor of Scott Kingery, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since taking over as the Phillies' new table setter June 4 following Andrew McCutchen's season-ending knee injury, Hernandez has gone 4-for-28 while reaching base at a .250 clip in seven games. Hernandez has a long track record of success out of the leadoff spot dating back to 2015, but it appears Kapler may keep him on a short leash while the hot-hitting Kingery continues to make a case for a move up the lineup. Kingery has posted a 1.330 OPS over that same seven-game stretch and is slashing .324/.365/.630 with seven home runs and two steals on the season.
