The Astros optioned Boshers to their minor-league camp Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old has bounced on and off the Twins' 40-man roster the past two years before landing with Houston via a January waiver claim. Boshers was unable to win an Opening Day spot with the Astros, but could be among the first relief callups from Triple-A Fresno this season when Houston requires another lefty bullpen arm.

Boshers struck out one in a scoreless third inning in Friday's exhibition opener against Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Boshers is one of the left-handers battling to impress manager A.J. Hinch. Tony Sipp has held the lefty reliever job the past two seasons, but has not been effective in that role. Hench, guys like Boshers and Reymin Guduan are in the mix.

Boshers was designated for assignment by the Twins on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Boshers was dropped from the Twins' 40-man roster in order to clear room for Addison Reed, who was recently signed to a two-year contract. The southpaw split time between Triple-A Rochester and the big club last season, posting a 3.68 ERA in 14.2 innings with the Red Wings while compiling a less-impressive 4.89 ERA in 35 innings with the Twins. He'll take a spin through waivers to determine his next landing spot; he could draw some interest given his prior MLB experience.

EDGE Analysis

Boshers was optioned to Triple-A Rochester following Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Boshers allowed two runs on two hits while only recording just two outs during Game 1, so he'll swap places with Nik Turley for Game 2 as the Twins look to bring in a fresh bullpen arm. Boshers, who now owns a 5.16 ERA through 29.2 big-league innings this season, will likely be back with the Twins when rosters expand in September.

Boshers has struck out 21 with an ERA of 3.86 in 25.2 innings this season.
EDGE Analysis
The innings has been about in line with what he's put up last season when he had 36 at the end of the season. Compared to 2016, the ERA is down from the 4.25 mark he had in 2016, which is odd compared to the increased WHIP from 1.17 to 1.25. Boshers has benefited from creating weaker contact this season, with his batting average on balls put in play dropping from .332 to .290 this season.

Boshers has an ERA of 2.77 with a WHIP of 1.31 in 13 innings since being brought to the majors at the end of May.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an impressive month for the left-handed reliever, who is being used to eat up a couple innings in games that starters don't pitch very deep. Now in his third season, the biggest change for Boshers from his first two years has been his ability to strand runners. Overall, he has stranded 82.4 percent of batters who get on base in 2017 compared to the marks of 64.1 and 61.9 he had the prior two campaigns.
