Morris left Saturday's game with a lower-back strain and is day-to-day.
He gave up one hit while recording two outs in Saturday's game before exiting. Morris has a 4.05 ERA and an 18.6 percent K-rate in 26.2 innings so far this season. He typically pitches in mid-to-low leverage situations.

Morris tossed a scoreless eighth inning Tuesday during the Marlins blowout loss to the Dodgers.
He allowed a pair of hits with one strikeout. Morris had been mentioned as a potential piece of the closer committee that is being assembled to replace maligned reliever Steve Cishek, however, his usage in a mop-up role during an 11-1 loss doesn't say a whole lot about the Marlins desire to preserve the right-hander for a potential high-leverage role in the coming days. Expect A.J. Ramos to get the first crack at the vacant closer role.

Morris could be in the mix for save opportunities, MLB.com reports.
Morris has had a shaky start to the season, posting a 4.60 ERA and 1.91 WHIP over 15.2 inning with nine walks and 14 strikeouts. Still, he has earned the trust of Manager Mike Redmond and was mentioned as an option for the ninth inning in light of Steve Cishek's recent struggles. Given how the bullpen has pitched this season, however, it would be an upset is A.J. Ramos did not get the first chance to take the closer job.

Morris took the loss Monday against the Nationals after getting tagged for four runs on four hits and one walk in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Morris had allowed runs during just three of his previous 12 appearances but watched his ERA jump from 2.31 to 4.97 after the off night. He's now allowed eight runs (seven earned) over 12.2 inning pitched with a pedestrian 12:8 K:BB ratio. Though he's not a great bet to repeat 2014's remarkable 1.82 ERA over 64.1 innings pitched, Morris should settle in as a steady setup option for the Marlins.

Morris has allowed two runs over his first seven appearances of the season.
Morris was absolutely dominant for Miami least season, but looks a bit more hittable in 2015 despite the solid results. He's allowed runs in two over his seven innings pitched, but has permitted at least one baserunner in all but one of his outings. There is still plenty of time for Morris to regain his 2014 form, but for now he's likely slipped behind A.J. Ramos as the number two in the Marlins' bullpen.

Morris has racked up four strikeouts and allowed just one run over three Grapefruit League appearances.
Morris has shown no ill effects from a groin issue that ended his 2014 season a few weeks early. Morris blossomed following a mid season move to Miami, posting a 0.66 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 40.2 inning with his new team down the stretch. He'll join A.J. Ramos and Mike Dunn as the top setup options behind closer Steve Cishek again in 2015.

This has been a possibility all along, but now it's official. Morris can be dropped in single-season leagues.

Morris (groin) may not pitch again this season, the Sun-Sentinel's Juan C. Rodriguez reports.
He re-injured his groin in his last outing on Sept. 9 in Milwaukee, and while he was prepared to pitch through it, the Marlins are taking a cautious approach. The team plans to use him sparingly, if at all, down the stretch, meaning he has very little fantasy value at this point.

Morris (groin) threw a bullpen session on Monday and will be available out of the bullpen Tuesday, the Miami Herald reports.
Morris has not pitched in a game since injuring his groin Aug. 26 but was able to avoid the disabled largely due to September roster expansion. His timely return will be a boost for a Miami bullpen that was needed for 6.2 innings in Monday's victory after starter Henderson Alvarez (oblique) was forced to make an early exit due to injury. Morris returns to a 1.76 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 61.1 innings this year with the Pirates and Marlins.

Morris (groin) is expected to be ready to return to the diamond on Sept. 1 when the Marlins return from their current road trip, the Miami Herald reports.
Morris, who has posted a phenomenal 0.48 ERA in 37.2 innings with the Marlins this season, strained his groin in a game last week and returned to Miami for examination. With roster expansion coming Monday, Morris was able to avoid the disabled list. The hope is that he'll be ready to go early next week.
