Anderson will play right field "quite a bit" at the start of the season for the Brewers, manager Craig Counsell told Adam McCalvy of MLB.com on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It seemed when Anderson was first signed back in January that the plan was to play him primarily at third base as Luis Urias slid over to second. However, Tyrone Taylor's (elbow) injury created an opening in right field and Brice Turang seized the second base gig, allowing Urias to stay at third and Anderson to play right. His leash figures to be pretty short, though, as the Brewers have some talented young outfielders waiting at Triple-A Nashville and also Jesse Winker available to play the outfield when he's not at designated hitter.

Anderson is 8-for-19 (.421) with two home runs through nine games this spring in the Cactus League.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson had a rough final year in Miami last season, but there's some thought that he could be rejuvenated offensively following an offseason move to Milwaukee. He's in line for everyday playing time out of the gate, whether in the corner outfield or his standard position at third base, and American Family Field is a lot friendlier to hitters than loanDepot park. There should deep-league fantasy appeal here.

Anderson told reporters via Zoom Sunday that he will primarily play third base, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson also said they the team has talked to him about playing in the outfield, and also potentially at first base. The former Miami infielder/outfielder signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Brewers after being non-tendered by the Marlins following a disappointing 2022 season where he posted a .657 OPS over 98 games.

Anderson is signing with the Brewers according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
EDGE Analysis
The deal is pending a physical. Anderson was non-tendered by the Marlins over the winter after slashing .222/.311/.346 with eight homers and 28 RBi over 98 games with Miami. The infielder/outfielder was much more successful with the bat in previous seasons, however, and is capable of playing in the corner outfield or at third base. He'll have a chance to win the starting job at the hot corner or in right field this spring, and at the very least should see plenty of playing time against left-handed pitching this summer.

The Marlins declined to tender Anderson a contract for 2023, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has battled injuries over the past two seasons, falling short of 100 games played both years, and the Marlins decided to move on rather than pay an above-market rate for Anderson's services. Despite his injury woes, Anderson (career .750 OPS) figures to get a big-league contract in free agency.

Anderson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While moving between right field and designated hitter, Anderson picked up starts in eight of Miami's last nine games while posting a .598 OPS. He'll get a breather for Monday's series opener after an 0-for-5, three-strikeout showing in Sunday's 4-3 win over Milwaukee in 12 innings.

Anderson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson will hit the bench after he started each of the past eight games at either third base, right field or designated hitter. With Avisail Garcia (hamstring) on the injured list, Joey Wendle (core) day-to-day and with Garrett Cooper owning a .594 OPS since the All-Star break, Anderson should have a fairly clear path to steady playing time the rest of the way even if he doesn't have a lineup spot at any one position.
