Cecil (0-5) surrendered three hits and the winning run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw reliever never got anyone out after being brought in to maintain a 3-3 lead in the ninth. The pinch-hitting Brad Miller started things off with an infield single, and Kevin Kiermaier followed with a double to deep right. Curt Casali then clinched the victory for Tampa with a left-field single, sending Cecil to his fifth loss and second outing in the last three where he failed to get anyone out.

Cecil nearly blew another save Tuesday when he allowed an RBI-double to Manny Machado (the run was charged to Marcus Stroman) and walked a batter while recording two outs in the 4-3 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty's struggles continued in his most recent outing. In just 6.1 innings this season, Cecil has blown two saves and been tagged with two loses. He does have four holds, but it may be wise to hold off on using him until the 29-year-old gets on track. If there is a silver lining here, it would be that Cecil's performance this season has actually been slightly better than last April.

Cecil was tagged for the game-winning run in the seventh inning against the Yankees Tuesday. The struggling left-hander allowed a single, a walk, a sacrifice and a bloop RBI single by Jacoby Elsbury with the infield drawn in, the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cecil is having trouble finding his usually devastating curveball, and it's creating some confusion with the way Toronto rolls out responsibilities in the crucial sixth and seventh innings. Cecil was lights out after June in 2015, but has yet to find that form this season. His ERA is at 10.13 after Tuesday. Once a reliable source for holds, the 29-year-old should be left out of lineups until he can get back on track.

With Franklin Morales (shoulder) being placed on the DL, Cecil now becomes the only active left-hander in the team's bullpen, CBC Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite blowing two saves in the first five games, Cecil is likely to be given an even larger workload moving forward. The entire team's bullpen, which was supposed to be a strength this season, has been awful to start the year. It's only a matter of time before they turn things around, and Cecil will be a major part of holding games on a routine basis.

Cecil's streak of 38 consecutive outings without allowing an earned run came to a crashing halt Tuesday night when he served up the decisive two-run homer to Logan Forsythe in a 3-2 loss to the Rays, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to Tuesday night, Cecil had not allowed an earned run since June 21, 2015. Between those outings, the veteran lefty didn't allow an earned run over 32.2 innings in 38 appearances. Cecil had a shot to claim the record as his own, but instead he will have to settle for a tie at 38 appearances with Craig Kimbrel.

Cecil tied the major league record for consecutive games without allowing an earned run in Monday's 5-3 win against the Rays, Sun Times Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cecil completed his 38th consecutive regular season appearance without allowing an earned run, tying Craig Kimbrel for the record. The record highlights the lefty's tremendous turnaround since he was dismissed as the team's closer last June. The 29-year-old also holds the club record for consecutive batters faced without allowing a hit --- he set down 40 hitters in a row in 2013.

Cecil (calf) agreed to a one-year, $3.8 million deal with the Blue Jays on Friday, avoiding arbitration, the Toronto Star's Brendan Kennedy reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even if the Blue Jays transition Roberto Osuna back to the rotation, which would require some more seasoning in the minors, the bullpen is still pretty loaded. Drew Storen figures to open the year as the closer, with Cecil and Aaron Sanchez serving as matchup-oriented setup men capable of missing bats and posting excellent ratios. He should be ready for spring training after tearing his left calf in the playoffs.

Cecil (calf) threw at full strength Friday, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cecil was already ruled out for the remainder of the postseason after suffering a torn left calf in the ALDS, but that he's already returned to throwing without limitations is an encouraging sign. The lefty figures to be ready in time for the start of the 2016 season.

Cecil has a torn left calf and will miss the remainder of the postseason, SportsNet's Barry Davis reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jays not only lost Game 2 Friday, pushing them to the brink of elimination, but they lost their best left-handed reliever in the process. All indications are that Cecil will be ready to go for the start of the 2016 season.

Cecil will undergo an MRI on his left calf muscle, Jeff Blair of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays have decided an MRI is necessary to gauge the full extent of the calf issue that knocked Cecil out of Friday's Game 2 of the ALDS. Cecil was spotted icing the calf and being fitted for crutches after exiting. His injury could loom large, as Aaron Loup is only other lefty in the Toronto bullpen.
