Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 16-4 victory over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo extended New York's lead to 2-0 in the second inning with an RBI double before driving in another run with a triple in the eighth. Nimmo's went 7-for-14 with four extra-base hits in three games against Atlanta after starting the season in a 3-for-29 slump. The 31-year-old outfielder figures to serve as the Mets' regular leadoff batter after slashing .274/.363/.466 with a career-high 24 homers, 68 RBI and 89 runs scored last season.

Nimmo went 4-for-4 with a three-run home run, a solo home run and an additional run batted in Monday against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo entered Monday's contest 3-for-29 (.103) on the season but broke out of the cold snap and reached safely in all five plate appearances. He finally got on the board in the home run column, mashing homers off Charlie Morton and A.J. Minter en route to a five-RBI day and the sixth multi-HR game of his career.

Nimmo (hamstring) is starting as the Mets' designated hitter Saturday versus Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Minor hamstring tightness prevented Nimmo from playing Friday, but the issue appears to have subsided ahead of Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old outfielder has gone just 1-for-21 through six games to begin the year, though he has still managed to draw six walks.

Nimmo is sitting out Friday's game in Cincinnati because of some minor hamstring tightness, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Nimmo's hamstring "checked out pretty good" pregame and the team doesn't believe it to be a serious issue. It was bad enough for him to be held out Friday, however, and given how hamstring problems can sometimes linger, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Nimmo sit out additional games. He's also just 1-for-21 to start the season, so a little reset might not be the worst thing. Tyrone Taylor is in left field Friday.

Nimmo is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Cincinnati, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo started the Mets' first six games of the season but will receive a day to reset after going 1-for-21 with six walks during that stretch. Tyrone Taylor will take over in left field while Francisco Linder moves up to the leadoff spot.

Nimmo went 0-for-5 with five walks and a stolen base in Thursday's doubleheader split with the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo didn't get a hit in either contest, but he did his job as New York's leadoff man by drawing five free passes. Given that he's gone just 1-for-21 to start the campaign, it was a positive development for Nimmo's fantasy managers to see him spend some time on the basepaths, though outside of his theft he didn't do anything to provide fantasy value in leagues that don't use OBP as a category. Odds are that Nimmo's bat will eventually come around, as he hasn't batted lower than .274 in a season since 2019.

Nimmo could be moved down in the Mets' batting order this season, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
President of baseball operations David Stearns and manager Carlos Mendoza discussed the possibility with Nimmo early in the offseason and co-hitting coaches Jeremy Barnes and Eric Chavez have continued the dialogue in spring training. Nimmo's on-base skills make him a natural fit as a leadoff hitter, but he also showed last season with a career-high 24 home runs that he could have potential as a middle-of-the-order presence. Healey mentions Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte and Jeff McNeil as options to move up to the top of the batting order if Nimmo slides down.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Monday that Nimmo will move to left field this season while Harrison Bader takes over in center field, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
That's been the assumption, but this is the first time Mendoza has officially addressed it. It makes for a strong defensive outfield for the Mets, giving them three outfielders with extensive center field experience between Nimmo, Bader and Starling Marte. Of course, given Bader's health history, there's a good chance Nimmo will still wind up spending a good amount of time in center.

Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns implied Monday that Nimmo (shoulder) is fully healthy ahead of spring training, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stearns noted that lefty David Peterson (hip), infielder Ronny Mauricio (knee) and right-hander Kyle Crick (calf) are the only players who will be held out of drills to begin camp, which suggests that Nimmo has a clean bill of health after finishing the 2023 season on the injured list with a sprained right shoulder. Nimmo is projected to return to his familiar role as the Mets' everyday leadoff man in 2024 after he slashed .274/.363/.466 with a career-high 24 home runs in 152 games a season ago.

Nimmo landed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a sprained right shoulder.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo has dealt with more than his fair share of injury problems in the past, so it's discouraging to see him end the year injured after a pair of seasons in which he crossed the 150-game threshold for the first time. This particular injury may not be too worrisome, however, as source reports that Nimmo avoided structural damage. If the Mets had postseason baseball to look forward to, he would address the problem with an injection, but their 72-86 record means he'll instead hit the couch a few days early and let the problem heal with rest. Michael Perez was recalled to take his place on the roster.
