Hunt was placed on the minor-league 7-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hunt will now be sidelined for at least a week while nursing the groin issue, but because it's the minor-league IL, the seven days aren't necessarily indicative of the injury's severity. The catcher has produced a .192 average with three home runs, six RBI and six runs scored over 52 at-bats in 13 contests with Norfolk since being traded to the Orioles' organization from the Mariners on May 22.

The Mariners traded Hunt to the Orioles on Wednesday in exchange for Mike Baumann and Michael Perez.
EDGE Analysis
Hunt has spent all season in Triple-A, slashing .293/.372/.533 with four homers and 20 RBI across 86 plate appearances. The 25-year-old backstop has yet to make his MLB debut, though it's possible he gets the chance to do so in Baltimore if the O's decide to replace James McCann with Hunt as Adley Rutschman's backup.

The Mariners optioned Hunt to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hunt entered spring camp as the fourth catcher on Seattle's 40-man roster, immediately making it unlikely the 25-year-old would break camp with the MLB squad. He performed well upon arriving at Triple-A for the first time last season, slashing .261/.315/.513 across 127 plate appearances. If Hunt gets hot at the plate again this season or the Mariners run into depth issues behind the dish, Hunt may have a shot at making his MLB debut this year.
