Red Sox signed RHP Billy Buckner to a minor league contract. We know what you're thinking, but no, there's no relation. Buckner, 28, had a 6.03 ERA over 109 innings last season with the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate and owns an awful 6.25 ERA in 138 1/3 career major league innings. He has been assigned to minor league camp and will function as organization depth for Boston.
