The Mariners placed Misiewicz on the 10-day injured list Monday due to an unspecified issue.
EDGE Analysis
Seattle hasn't revealed whether Misiewicz's placement on the IL was the result of an injury or a COVID-19-related concern. If it's the latter, Misiewicz could be able to return before the minimum 10 days, provided he hasn't actually tested positive for the virus himself. Seattle recalled Erik Swanson from its taxi squad to provide some extra depth in the bullpen while Misiewicz is on the shelf.

Misiewicz (1-0) fired a clean 10th inning in Thursday's season-opening win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The young southpaw pitched to a 1.08 ERA, 0.48 WHIP and .115 BAA across 8.1 Cactus League frames, and he picked up right where he left off Thursday to help seal Seattle's wild comeback victory. Misiewicz proved reliable last season in middle relief with eight holds, and although he logged a high-leverage opportunity Thursday, that was largely the result of closer Rafael Montero already having pitched the ninth and blown a save opportunity.

Misiewicz, who compiled eight holds as a rookie in 2020, has a 3.00 ERA and 4:0 K:BB across three innings over his first three Cactus League appearances.
EDGE Analysis
The young right-hander has given one earned run, but otherwise, he's been close to flawless exhibiting some of the same impressive control that led to a 25:6 K:BB over his first 20 big-league innings a season ago. Misiewicz appears on his way to garnering a roster spot as a middle reliever once again, with Daniel Kramer of MLB.com including him in his latest Opening Day roster projection.

Misiewicz was credited with his eighth hold in a win over the Astros on Wednesday, firing two-thirds scoreless innings during which he recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Misiewicz has encouragingly evened out his performances down the season's stretch run, as he's now posted scoreless appearances in four of the last five trips to the mound. The southpaw has been a versatile option for manager Scott Servais, as he's been effective in both sub-one-inning outings and longer assignments that have seen him work as much as a pair of frames. Following Wednesday's effort, Misiewicz sports a 4.26 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and impressive 24:5 K:BB across 19 innings.

Misiewicz (0-2) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Giants. He allowed one run on one hit while fanning two in one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Misiewicz pitched the seventh inning and allowed the game-winning run on a solo shot from Darin Ruf. Misiewicz has been a reliable late-inning option for Seattle with six holds, but he has allowed runs in three of his last seven appearances -- he owns a 3.86 ERA while fanning 10.3 K/9 in that seven-game span.

Misiewicz was credited with his sixth hold in a win over the Rangers on Sunday, allowing a hit and a walk over one inning while recording a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old southpaw continued his solid season with Sunday's outing, which marked his fourth scoreless appearance over his last five trips to the mound. Misiewicz's 3.68 ERA is solid considering he allowed four earned runs over his first five appearances, while his 19:4 K:BB and 0.6 HR/9 over 14.2 innings are elite.

Misiewicz (0-1) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Rockies. He gave up two runs on one hit and one walk while fanning two in one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Misiewicz has made five appearances this season and has allowed runs in three, including each of the past two. As a result, he now owns a 6.75 ERA across 5.1 innings from the bullpen in 2020.

Misiewicz earned his first hold in a win over the Astros on Sunday, firing a scoreless eighth inning in which he allowed no hits or walks and recorded one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old southpaw had previously been identified by manager Scott Servais as a potential candidate for save chances while Yoshihisa Hirano (illness) remained out. While Misiewicz's Sunday assignment didn't unfold in the ninth inning, it did come with the Mariners nursing a two-run lead in the eighth. Misiewicz came through in fine fashion in a frame that included a swinging strikeout of Carlos Correa, and he could certainly be in line for more late-game work moving forward.

Misiewicz could see closing opportunities with Yoshihisa Hirano (undisclosed) now on the injured list, although manager Scott Servais has said he plans to utilize more than one pitcher in the role, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie had his share of struggles at Triple-A Tacoma last season, posting a 5.36 ERA over 19 appearances (17 starts). Misiewicz appears to have adequate swing-and-miss stuff, but he's the only one of a foursome that also includes Matt Magill, Austin Adams and Dan Altavilla mentioned by Servais as ninth-inning candidates that doesn't have any major-league experience. With the Mariners skipper also stating that he'll partly base his ninth-inning assignments on matchup, the left-handed Misiewicz could see some chances if multiple same-handed hitters are due up.
