McCutchen went 1-for-6 with a solo home run in a 6-4 loss to Milwaukee on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
It's been quite the year for the annual MVP candidate and with how good the Pirates have been this season, he may have a good shot at the award this season. While the one-hit game lowered his average below .300, he still has provided elite numbers across the board. The only worry are the steals, as he has just seven in 11 attempts this season. That will be a career-low by a significant margin and it remains to be seen if that'll continue to be a part of his game going forward.

McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored Friday in St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
A day after sitting out due to a sore Achilles', McCutchen showed no signs of injury -- he even legged out a late-inning infield single. The Bucs took him out in the bottom of the ninth inning but that was likely because the team held an eight-run lead.

McCutchen (Achilles) is back in the lineup Friday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The news comes as little surprise, as manager Clint Hurdle had already indicated McCutchen would return to the lineup "unless he miss the flight." He'll assume his usual spot in center field and hit third in the lineup.

Manager Clint Hurdle said McCutchen (knee) will return to the starting lineup Friday in St. Louis "unless he misses the flight," Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hurdle said that McCutchen's left knee has been bothering him for the last five or six days. Pittsburgh had a chance to bundle two off-days with a Sunday afternoon start and Monday's day off, but instead the team rest August's NL player of the month Thursday.

McCutchen is not in the lineup Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear whether the newly minted NL Player of the Month for August is dealing with an injury, but Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Gazette reports that McCutchen appeared to tweak something while running to first base Wednesday night. The Pirates are yet to comment on the situation, so consider McCutchen day-to-day until further notice. Pittsburgh will go with Starling Marte in center field Thursday. He'll be flanked by Josh Harrison in left and Gregory Polanco in right.

McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a double that hit high off the right-center field wall Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
He was knocked down by a Jimmy Nelson fastball later in the contest and seemed to tweak his back. The center fielder stayed in the game but appeared to be playing at less than 100 percent. It might be a good idea to make sure he's in the starting lineup Wednesday before inserting him into daily league lineups.

McCutchen went 2-for-5 with a double, his 20th homer and four RBI in Wednesday's win over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
With four consecutive multi-hit games and seven in his last nine, McCutchen has lifted his average back to .300 after mostly lingering in the .290s since the All-Star break. He's been racking up plenty of extra-base knocks, too, with four doubles and two homers in his last six games. The decline in his speed contributions is certainly certainly disappointing, but McCutchen's still one of the better hitters in the game.

McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, three walks and two runs scored Saturday against the Cardinals. The home run was of the walk-off variety, and capped a wild 14-inning affair by sending the Pirates home as 6-5 victors. It took McCutchen seven at-bats, but he did manage to extend his hitting streak to a career-high 18 games. The All-Star outfielder's recent surge has raised his average back up to exactly .300 with one game left before the break, and his low steals count (5) is the only thing putting a damper on an otherwise magnificent fantasy campaign.

McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI Tuesday against San Diego. Padres left fielder Justin Upton robbed him of his 11th homer, but Cutch made a save of his own when he helped to rescue a grounds crew member who'd fallen into a whirling tarp during a rain delay. McCutchen extended his hitting streak to a career-high 14 games and lifted his batting average to .301, his highest mark since Opening Day.

McCutchen went 1-for-3 with a walk and two-run double Sunday against the Indians. The center fielder raised his on-base percentage to a season-high .391 Sunday -- he's finished the last three years with a .400-plus OBP. Despite a dreadful start, McCutchen's traditional fantasy numbers (10 HR, .297 BA, 51 RBI) aren't far off from 2014 in seven fewer games (13 HR, .322 BA, 53 RBI).
