McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of walks Wednesday against Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
He's hitting .381 in 21 at-bats since the Pirates moved him to the sixth spot in the batting order May 26. After an off-day Thursday, McCutchen will face the Mets' Matt Harvey on Friday in New York. McCutchen has three hits (including a homer) in seven career at-bats against Harvey.

McCutchen went 1-for-3 with a walk-off solo home run in the ninth and two runs scored in Monday's 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
After getting a few days off to clear his head recently, McCutchen has now homered in two of his last three games and seems rejuvenated at the dish. Despite hitting just .215 on the season, the 30-year-old outfielder has 23 runs scored, 24 RBI and five steals in 207 plate appearances. While most likely believe the decline is full effect for McCutchen, he could also be in the midst of turning his season around.

McCutchen went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a double and three RBI during Saturday's extra-innings win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Currently sporting a disastrous .212/.286/.385 slash line through 199 plate appearances, McCutchen is struggling to find the form that made him a fantasy superstar earlier in his career. He's providing respectable counting starts with seven homers, 23 RBI, 21 runs and five stolen bases, but he also has just eight multi-hit games all season. It's worth noting that McCutchen finished 2016 well with a .284 batting average and .852 OPS over the final two months, so perhaps another midseason turnaround is ahead.

McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts Friday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates kept him out of the starting lineup Wednesday and Thursday in hopes of rebooting his season, but the initial results look pretty much the same. He struck out on three pitches in the ninth inning against reliever Fernando Salas and his 91-mph fastball. Manager Clint Hurdle moved McCutchen down to sixth in the batting order in hopes of taking some pressure off, but the outfielder is now slashing .167/.207/.256 with a 4:18 K:BB in his last 78 at-bats.

McCutchen is not in the Pirates' Thursday lineup against the Braves, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old will ride the pine for the second straight game, though he knocked a pinch-hit single Wednesday. McCutchen could return to the lineup Friday, as no reason has been given other than rest. Adam Frazier slides to center field to take his place Thursday.

McCutchen delivered a pinch-hit single in Tuesday's 12-5 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
He led off the 10th inning with his hit, snapping an 0-for-15 stretch that dropped his batting average to .200. McCutchen would then go on to whiff in his second at-bat. The team hasn't yet revealed whether the outfielder will return to the starting lineup Thursday afternoon.

McCutchen is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Braves, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen's awful season may have hit its nadir over the last three games, during which he's failed to record a hit in 12 at-bats. Either out of loyalty to McCutchen or as a means of building up his trade value, the Pirates probably won't strip the former National League MVP of his everyday role this season, but manager Clint Hurdle hinted that McCutchen wouldn't necessarily reenter the lineup in Thursday's series finale. Hurdle will call upon Danny Ortiz to make the start in center field Wednesday.

McCutchen went 2-for-5 with a double against Washington on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
He's strung together back-to-back multi-hit games and after stealing six bases last season, McCutchen has swiped three bags in his last four games. Still, the outfielder expressed dissatisfaction in his overall play, blaming himself for manager Clint Hurdle's decision to remove him Wednesday as part of a double switch. McCutchen is batting just .176/.231/.269 in 108 at-bats against right-handed pitching, well below his career mark of .282/.371/.465. The 30-year-old will likely continue to struggle until he can find his game against righties.

McCutchen went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two steals and two runs against the Nationals on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This marks McCutchen's first multi-hit game since April 28, as it's been a tough season for the veteran. Still, there are positive signs to be found here. His power hasn't entirely abandoned him (.179 ISO)and his .225 BABIP is primed for improvement, considering that McCutchen has actually cut his strikeout rate while still generally hitting the ball well. There's an intriguing buy-low opportunity here.

McCutchen is slashing .132/.207/.302 in his last 58 plate appearances since April 29.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his struggles, McCutchen is batting .333 with three homers and eight RBI against left-handed pitching in 2017. With Arizona throwing southpaw Robbie Ray on Sunday (against whom McCutchen has two hits in five career at-bats), perhaps the outfielder can get back on track. Certainly his .226 BABIP figures to inch closer to his career mark of .328, or at least his 2016 number of .297.
