McCutchen remains on the bench Tuesday against St. Louis, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen doesn't appear to be dealing with any injury, so it's possible he's slipping into the short side of a platoon in left field with Brad Miller, who's starting there again Tuesday. It's hard to argue McCutchen deserves everyday at-bats at the moment, as he's hitting just .154/.300/.231 on the year. The breakdown of playing time going forward may not become clear for a few more games.

McCutchen will sit Monday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies are calling this just a routine day off for McCutchen, per Matt Gelb of The Athletic, but it would hardly be a surprise if he finds himself on the bench more often going forward. His 17.5 percent walk rate remains excellent, but that's just about all that's going well for him at the moment, as he's hitting just .154 and slugging .231. The left-handed Brad Miller, who starts in his place Monday, would make for an obvious platoon partner, but the Phillies aren't expected to go in that direction quite yet.

McCutchen will not start Tuesday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen sits for the third time in the Phillies' first 17 games. He's struggled at the plate this season in everything but the walk department, hitting .157/.306/.255. Matt Joyce will start in left field Tuesday.

McCutchen went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run in Friday's win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen took part in a six-run rally in the second frame by bringing two runners across with a single in the inning, and he plated another run with a single in the bottom of the eighth inning. McCutchen has been somewhat inconsistent to begin the season and has hit just .171 with two extra-base hits, five RBI and 11 strikeouts in 12 games.

McCutchen will sit Thursday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen's 34-year-old legs should see fairly frequent rest this season, and an early afternoon contest seems like the perfect opportunity for that. He's struggled at the plate thus far, hitting .139/.279/.278 in 43 plate appearances. Matt Joyce will take over in left field in his absence.

McCutchen is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old went 0-for-4 with one run and three strikeouts during the matinee, and he'll take a seat for the nightcap. Matt Joyce is starting in left field and batting leadoff in McCutchen's place for Game 2.

McCutchen went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored Saturday in a loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen entered the contest with only one extra-base hit to his name for the season before doubling that number with a 444-foot shot to left field in the fifth inning. The long ball pushed the veteran outfielder's batting average back over the Mendoza Line to .208. He also doubled his RBI total to two for the campaign.

McCutchen is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen started each of the first four games of the season, going just 2-for-12 at the plate but walking five times. Matt Joyce will make his first start of the season in his absence.

McCutchen went 2-for-3 with a walk, two doubles and two runs scored in Saturday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The strong showing means the veteran outfielder has now gone 6-for-18 with three extra-base hits through seven Grapefruit League games. Entering the season healthy is what's most important for the former MVP, who posted a career-low 103 wRC+ last season in his first year back from a torn ACL. Any boost he gets from a healthy offseason could be offset by the effects of aging for the 34-year-old, though he should still be a respectable cross-category contributor this season unless age hits particularly hard.

McCutchen went 4-for-5 with a home run, an RBI and three runs scored Saturday against the Rays but the Phillies still lost, 4-3.
EDGE Analysis
McCutchen led the way offensively for the Phillies, as he put up a four-hit night that was highlighted by a fifth-inning solo home run to left. The 33-year-old is hitting .258/.329/.441 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI in 56 games, as he's had a nice bounceback season after suffering a torn ACL in June of 2019.
