Andrew McCutchen To Hit Leadoff For Phils rotoballer.com Wed 3/20/19 12:21 PM

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen will hit leadoff for the team this year instead of second baseman Cesar Hernandez. McCutchen has a career .378 on-base percentage and .481 slugging percentage and can still run a bit. In 49 games hitting leadoff last year, Cutch had a .414 OBP. Hernandez has a .366 OBP the last three years and a .390 slugging percentage. Manager Gabe Kapler said Hernandez could hit sixth or seventh, which will lower his impact in fantasy leagues. McCutchen's sk[...]

Predicting the Top 10 Finishers for RBI in 2019 rotoballer.com Fri 3/15/19 6:15 AM

If you so much as mention the acronym "RBI" in the wrong baseball circles these days, you run the risk of being ridiculed. Because RBI is such an opportunity-driven statistic, it is no longer viewed as an accurate measurement of a player's overall value.J.T. Realmuto didn't have any control over the on-base percentages of the players hitting before him in a dreadful 2018 Marlins lineup. By the same token, J.D. Martinez is not responsible for the fact that he got to hit behind exceptional players[...]

Predicting the Top 10 Home Run Hitters of 2019 rotoballer.com Sun 3/10/19 4:30 PM

Last year 14 players hit over 35 or more home runs; the year before that it was 18. The point is, narrowing such an impressive pool of players down to 10 is challenging. The list is realistic but I wanted to be slightly bold as well. It wouldnt be much of a prediction if we just chose the top home run hitters from last year. Coincidentally, there are three sets of teammates, and in two cases, its essentially 50/50 who will lead their team by season's end. There are obviously some notable omissions[...]

ADP Cost Analysis - Andrew McCutchen vs. Jesse Winker rotoballer.com Wed 2/27/19 6:15 AM

Andrew McCutchen, now 32, is unlikely to ever regain his spectacular prime years from 2012-15, but after a disappointing 2016 campaign, he recovered with solid seasons in 2017 and 18, posting 20+ home runs and double-digit steals both years. He is being drafted 144th overall on average after signing with the Phillies this offseason.Jessie [...]

J.T. Realmuto to Phillies - Fantasy Impact rotoballer.com Fri 2/8/19 6:30 AM

While Manny Machado and Bryce Harper remain on the free agent market as spring training approaches, the Phillies have continued to improve their 2019 roster via other means. After trading for Jean Segura and inking Andrew McCutchen and David Robertson to three-year deals in free agency, Philadelphia brought star catcher J.T. Realmuto into the fold on Thursday.Going to Miami in the trade will be catcher Jorge Alfaro and a pair of pitching prospects (Sixto Sanchez and [...]

Shortstop - Early Points Leagues Rankings and Tiers rotoballer.com Mon 2/4/19 6:30 AM

Its never too early to start looking toward the fantasy baseball season, so Im here to carry on RotoBallers position-by-position rankings analysis series for points leaguesand head-to-head (H2H) formats with the stars of the infield, the shortstops. The position is star-studded, and in roto leagues I think I'd be comfortable with any of the top 20 names on this list. Unfortunately, the position gets pretty scarce in points leagues due to the majority's lack of power and walks. In points leagues [...]
