White Sox optioned RHP Andre Rienzo to Triple-A Charlotte. Rienzo is 4-5 with a rough 5.87 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP in 24 appearances this year for the White Sox. He should have another chance later on in the season.

Andre Rienzo has been moved to the White Sox bullpen. Rienzo surrendered four earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Saturday against the Twins, watching his ERA rise to 5.86. He will pitch in long relief now for Chicago, with Scott Carroll moving into the vacant rotation spot.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Monday that Andre Rienzo is still a member of the team's rotation "as of right now." "We're still going over that. As of right now he is," Ventura said. "We'll continue to sit there and talk about it." Rienzo was tagged for four runs over 4 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Twins and holds a 10.38 ERA over his last four starts. If the White Sox do make a move, Ventura said it would be Scott Carroll taking Rienzo's spot in the rotation.
