While Justin Bruihl will serve as the opener in Monday's bullpen game against Pittsburgh, Jackson will make his major-league debut as a long reliever. The 25-year-old has made 17 appearances (14 starts) in the minors this year, and he posted a 3.28 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 71.1 innings.

Manager Dave Roberts said Jackson is "in the equation" to receive a call-up from Triple-A Oklahoma City and fill innings as a starter or long reliever in Monday's game against the Pirates, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The 25-year-old righty also hasn't exceeded five innings in any start this season, so there's not much reason to think that he's close to contributing to the big-league rotation.
