In four innings of Grapefruit League work so far, Wilson has allowed 11 hits and nine earned runs.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson is getting a look as a starting pitcher in spring training, and the early results have not been promising. Long balls have been an issue, as Wilson served up two in 1.1 innings in his first outing on Feb. 27, then gave up another in 2.2 innings of work Sunday. The Tigers are looking to see Wilson use more pitches and get more comfortable going deeper in games, so they can probably live with the poor stats in the short term. But if he struggles too much, the team may simply move him back to the bullpen, where he's had some success. Wilson had an ERA below 3.00 from 2014-2016, though he posted a 4.50 ERA last season.

Wilson struck out five and pitched two scoreless innings against Florida Southern in his spring debut Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers are giving Wilson a look as a starter this spring, and he'll try to secure a place in the back of the rotation during Grapefruit League starts in the weeks ahead. Wilson used four pitches during his start Thursday, and he's scheduled to go three innings in his next spring outing, which will likely take place Tuesday against the Phillies.

Wilson will start the Tigers' exhibition opener Thursday against Florida Southern College, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of the top relievers in a dismal Tigers bullpen a year ago, Wilson has converted to a starting role this spring and is attempting to claim a spot at the back of the big club's rotation. Wilson acknowledged that he probably won't throw more than two innings Thursday in his spring debut, but expects to be stretched out as Grapefruit League play unfolds. The soft-tossing lefty faces competition from Mike Fiers, Daniel Norris, Buck Farmer and Travis Wood for the final two starting sports.

Wilson (leg) will compete for a rotation spot in spring training, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson, who has worked almost exclusively out of the bullpen through his five seasons in the majors, will be given a chance to enter the Tigers' rotation after asking the team's brass for the opportunity to do so. The 31-year-old began his professional career as a starter -- making 68 starts before transitioning to the bullpen in 2012 -- so this isn't unchartered territory for him. He's made just one start in the majors, however, tossing three scoreless innings for Detroit back in 2015. If Wilson is ultimately unable to crack the rotation out of spring, he'll likely fall back to his role as one of the team's top relievers.

Wilson (leg) agreed to a one-year, $1.925 million deal with the Tigers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was the second year as an arbitration-eligible player for Wilson. The right-hander appeared in 66 games for Detroit last season, posting a 4.50 ERA and 1.37 WHIP, but was only able to manage 42 strikeouts in 60 innings. He also suffered a fractured leg during a late-September outing, but should be ready by the time spring training rolls around.

Wilson was forced from Saturday's game after suffering a non-displaced fibular fracture on his right lower leg.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty was struck by a batted ball, and the broken leg will end his season. Wilson will wind up with a 4.50 ERA and 17 holds in 60 innings. He'll look to heal in time for spring training heading into his second year of arbitration and, if tendered a contract, should hold down a role in the middle or late innings with the Tigers' bullpen in his age-31 season.

Wilson recorded his 16th hold of the season Friday against the Blue Jays despite allowing two runs on two hits in an inning of work.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson wasn't particularly sharp, as he gave up home runs to Richard Urena and Jose Bautista in the frame. Shane Greene is locked in as Detroit's closer, meaning Wilson will likely remain in a setup role for the rest of the season.

Wilson will begin serving a three-game suspension Saturday for his role in a brawl between the Yankees and Tigers on Aug. 24.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson was originally handed a four-game suspension, but it was appealed down to three games. He will be eligible to return Tuesday against the Royals. Daniel Stumpf, Warwick Saupold and Joe Jimenez will serve as setup options while Wilson is unavailable.

Wilson was suspended four games for his role in Thursday's brawl with the Yankees, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson is expected to appeal the suspension in hopes of having it reduced in the coming days. The right-hander "intentionally threw at Todd Frazier" and also received a fine from the league. Once the dust settles and it has been determined the length of Wilson's absence, he will begin to serve the suspension.

Wilson allowed six hits and four earned runs in just one inning of work during Thursday's loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers already trailed 12-4 when Wilson entered the game, so there wasn't much of a reason to pull him despite the struggles. The bad outing bumped Wilson's ERA from 3.66 to 4.46. His ERA has been steadily climbing since he ended May with a 1.88 mark. In 17 games (16.1 innings) since then, Wilson has an ugly 8.27 ERA and 2.20 WHIP.
