Gonzalez (back) is starting at first base and batting sixth Monday against the Giants, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez received an epidural injection in his back last week, and he's apparently feeling healthy enough to return to the lineup after resting over the weekend. Back issues have led to a terribly unproductive year for the veteran, but the 34-year-old is hoping the injection will allow him to play pain-free down the stretch. It will be something to monitor, as Gonzalez could be withheld from the Dodgers' postseason roster if the ailment crops up again. Given the amount of time he's already missed this season, the Dodgers figure to be cautious with him down the stretch.

Gonzalez (back) received an epidural Thursday and will miss the next three games, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez is hoping the injection will put his back issue behind him for the rest of the season, though it's unclear if that will be the case. The 34-year-old been bothered by back issues all season, resulting in one of his least productive campaigns since his rookie years in Texas. If the pain doesn't subside relatively soon, Gonzalez could be withheld from the Dodgers' postseason roster. Cody Bellinger will continue to man first base with Gonzalez sidelined.

Manager Dave Roberts said Gonzalez's back is still bothering him, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez's trying season continues, as the 35-year-old has managed to play in just 64 games this season due to a recurring back issue. While he's been able to play through the ailment, it has noticeably hindered his production; with his 69 wRC+, Gonzalez has been worse than a league average hitter for the first time since 2005. The Dodgers will proceed cautiously with the veteran down the stretch, but if the issue doesn't clear up before the end of the season, Roberts said Gonzalez could be left off the postseason roster.

Gonzalez (back) is starting at first base and hitting sixth Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was removed from Sunday's game with a little tightness in his back, and despite the fact he is expected to lose out on at-bats over the final month, he is in there against righty Zack Godley. Gonzalez is unlikely to start at all against southpaws the rest of the way, but should still get the occasional start against righties just to keep him engaged. He has been 35 percent worse than a league average hitter this year (65 wRC+) -- the first time he has been below league average since 2005.

Manager Dave Roberts said that Gonzalez was removed early from Sunday's game against the Brewers due to "a little" tightness in his back, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has missed extensive time this season while recovering from a herniated disc, so the Dodgers will proceed cautiously with the veteran, who may have to manage back issues off and on the rest of the way. In addition to noting Gonzalez's injury, Roberts said that the 35-year-old may have to soon settle for a part-time role, as the Dodgers skipper indicated that Cody Bellinger (ankle) would serve as the club's primary first baseman upon being activated from the disabled list Wednesday. Since returning from a two-month absence earlier this month, Gonzalez has reached base at a meager .220 clip, offering the Dodgers little hope that he would be a viable everyday option as the team makes its playoff push. Instead, Gonzalez will likely be limited to occasional starts at first base along with pinch-hitting duties against right-handed pitching.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran gets a breather Saturday after starting eight games in a row following his return from the disabled list. Chase Utley will slide over to first base in place of Gonzalez as the Dodgers take on Zach Davies and the Brewers.

Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
He went back-to-back with Yasmani Grandal in the eighth for his second home run of the season. Gonzalez recently returned after missing more than two months with a back injury. While the 35-year-old has hit safely in all but one of his seven starts since his reinstatement, he hasn't recorded multiple hits in any of those games. He has just six multi-hit games all year.

Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday's double was a historic one, as it represented the 13-year pro's 2,000th career hit in the majors. The 35-year-old has been forced into everyday action following his activation from the disabled list last Friday, and he will continue to see regular playing time in the immediate future after Cody Bellinger (ankle) was placed on the disabled list. Gonzalez has gone 4-for-21 with two doubles since his return, but the veteran slugger reported that his lingering back pain has finally subsided, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register.

Gonzalez started at first base and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has gone 2-for-8 with a double and two RBI since being activated off the disabled list Friday. The aging slugger was expected to be eased back into action following his lengthy layoff, but a minor injury to Cody Bellinger (ankle) could open up a few more starts than initially expected. Gonzalez's days of providing middle-the-order production appear to be in the rear-view mirror, but the 35-year-old can still provide modest fantasy value on days where he starts for a loaded Dodger offense.

Gonzalez (back) was activated from the 60-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez hasn't played in a major-league game since June 11 after suffering a herniated disk in his back, but he appears to be fully healthy following nine rehab appearances over the past couple weeks. Prior to his injury, Gonzalez was hitting .255/.304/.339 with one home run and 23 RBI in 49 games. It will be interesting to see how manager Dave Roberts fills out his starting nine with the 35-year-old back in the fold. Cody Bellinger is likely going to see a majority of the starts in left while Gonzalez mans first base, but with the way Chris Taylor has been playing, there figures to be a a couple games a week where Gonzalez retreats to the bench. In a corresponding move, Rob Segedin was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
