Beltre announced his retirement Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers were open to bringing Beltre back for less money and in a lesser role, but the 39-year-old third baseman opted to call it a career. He sails into the sunset with a .286/.339/.480 slash line, 477 home runs and 84 fWAR, thanks largely to stellar defense at the hot corner. There is a good chance he gets voted into the Hall of Fame five years from now.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said last week that he's been in touch with Beltre, but the third baseman has yet to decide if he wants to continue his playing career in 2019, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beltre will be a free agent this winter with the Rangers unwilling to extend him a qualifying offer, but the organization remains open to bringing the 39-year-old back at the right price if he's interested. in returning to Texas. Injuries have hampered Beltre in both of the past two seasons, so expect him to handle a part-time role at third base and/or log more extensive time at designated hitter in 2019 if he elects to join an American League club this offseason.

Beltre (hip) returns to the lineup Friday against the Mariners, hitting fourth as the designated hitter.
EDGE Analysis
Beltre sat out Thursday's contest due to a lingering hip injury, but the issue was apparently a minor one as he missed just a single day. He's expected to play in each of the final three games of the season, games which could be the final ones of the 39-year-old's career.

Beltre is not in the lineup Thursday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Beltre, who is hitting .276/.329/.671 with eight homers and 15 RBI through 21 games in September, will hit the bench for the second time in the last four games as the Rangers look to give him some extra rest down the stretch. Jurickson Profar is starting at the hot corner in this one, with Joey Gallo serving as the DH.

Beltre will not be in the lineup every day over the final week of the season, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beltre will start Sunday, the Rangers' home finale and possibly his final game in front of the fans in Arlington, then have his playing time managed over the final week on the road in Anaheim and Seattle. This is the time of year when managers like to give veterans a chance to reach milestones, but Beltre already achieved his Friday. The 39-year-old Beltre hit the 476th home run of his career, moving him past Stan Musial and Willie Stargell for 30th on the all-time list.

Beltre is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
After starting 17 straight games and slashing .266/.338/.594 over that span, Beltre will head to the bench while Isiah Kiner-Falefa handles third base. Beltre battled a Grade 2 hamstring strain earlier during that stretch, but the Rangers were able to find consistent at-bats by regularly deploying him at designated hitter. Though he's now healthier, Beltre will still likely move between DH and third base over the next couple weeks as the Rangers aim to keep him fresh.

Beltre went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
In his 100th game of the season, Beltre popped his 10th homer. The 39-year-old's in the twilight of his illustrious career, but his .275/.333/.403 slash line shows that he's not yet a liability at the plate.

Beltre is expected to start at third base in Sunday's series finale against the Giants, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beltre, who has started only at designated hitter since returning from a third hamstring injury, pinch hit in the ninth inning Saturday and would have remained in the game as the third baseman had the Rangers tied the score. Jurickson Profar, who has started every game at third since Beltre injured his hamstring Aug. 13, will slide over to first base Sunday.
