Adam Wainwright Collects His First Win of the Season rotoballer.com Mon 4/8/19 12:16 AM

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright picked up his first win of the season on Sunday, tossing six innings of one-run ball. He allowed five hits and struck out nine without issuing a walk. It was one of the best outings for "Waino" in a while, and especially encouraging after he had a rough first start this season. He was lifted after an even 100 pitches. Wainwright can still be a decent back-of-the-rotation starter in deeper leagues.

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright allowed four runs on four hits and four walks in four innings on Monday. He struck out three but only threw 37 of his 72 pitches for strikes. It was a struggle for Wainwright, but he escaped with a no-decision as the Cardinals ended up winning the game in extra innings. Seeing Waino on the mound likely creates warm and fuzzy feelings for Cardinals fans, but he's only a fantasy option in the deepest of leagues at this point.

Starting Pitcher - Early Points League Rankings and Tiers rotoballer.com Wed 2/6/19 6:30 AM

Fantasy experts are placing a bigger emphasis on drafting elite starters early this year. It is apparent this strategy is making its way across the fantasy community, as the high-end starters are being valued higher than before. In points leagues, this is a wise methodology, as an ace can serve as the backbone of a fantasy team. Seven different SPs tallied over 600 points in standard formats, whereas only six hitters reached that mark. Even Mike Trout failed to reach that level of production tha[...]
