St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright picked up his first win of the season on Sunday, tossing six innings of one-run ball. He allowed five hits and struck out nine without issuing a walk. It was one of the best outings for "Waino" in a while, and especially encouraging after he had a rough first start this season. He was lifted after an even 100 pitches. Wainwright can still be a decent back-of-the-rotation starter in deeper leagues.

It was a struggle for Wainwright, but he escaped with a no-decision as the Cardinals ended up winning the game in extra innings. Seeing Waino on the mound likely creates warm and fuzzy feelings for Cardinals fans, but he's only a fantasy option in the deepest of leagues at this point.
