St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright was excellent on Friday, tossing seven innings while allowing just one run on five hits. He struck out eight and did not issue a walk. It was vintage Wainwright in this one, as he kept the Pirates off balance throughout his seven innings of work. He threw just 92 pitches, but the Cardinals couldn't score more than one run, so despite Wainwright's effort the Cardinals ended up with a loss.

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright struggled on Sunday, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks in five innings of work. The loss evened his record at 3-3 and moved his ERA up to 4.46. Wainwright has been solid in several of his starts, but he's had some rough ones as well. He's likely to continue being somewhat inconsistent and is a better option in DFS leagues than in season-long formats.

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright had another good start on Tuesday against the Nationals, winning his third game. He tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowing only two runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out five but did allow two home runs. Wainwright improved to 3-2 and lowered his ERA to 3.73. He figures to be somewhat inconsistent this season, but he's shown that he's still able to get guys out when his stuff is working.
