Ottavino (2-3) took the loss and was tagged with a blown save against Toronto on Monday, allowing six runs on four hits and two walks without retiring a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino was the the hardest-hit victim of a 10-run Toronto sixth inning, getting lit up for a season-high six runs without registering an out. The biggest blow came off the bat of Danny Jansen, who smoked a grand slam to end Ottavino's outing. The veteran reliever's ERA jumped by over four runs to 7.55 due to the disastrous appearance, and he entered the record books as just the fifth Yankees pitcher since 1913 to allow six or more earned runs without recording an out.

Ottavino (2-2) took the loss and a blown save in Thursday's game against Tampa Bay, allowing three runs on two hits and a walk over 0.2 innings pitched.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino entered the game to start the sixth inning with the Yankees leading 4-3. After allowing a double and walk to the first two batters he faced, the right-hander retired the next two. He gave up a game-tying single to Manuel Margot two batters later before being replaced by Luis Avilan. The reliever was credited with two more runs when Avilan gave up a three-run homer to Mike Zunino. As of now, Thursday can be viewed as just a slip up, as Ottavino had allowed just one run in his previous 8.1 innings to start the season.

Ottavino (2-1) allowed one run on no hits and two walks while striking out one over one inning as he was charged with the loss Friday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino has earned two wins in relief this season, but he picked up his first loss Friday. He came on in the eighth inning of a scoreless contest against the Rays and allowed two walks before giving up a go-ahead sacrifice fly that put him in line for the loss. Despite the blemish on his record, Ottavino has a 1.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over five innings in his first six relief appearances this year.

Ottavino (1-0) allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless 1.1 innings while striking out two, earning the win Sunday versus the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino was called on to get the final out of the seventh inning and then handled a leadoff Xander Bogaerts double in the eighth without trouble. The Yankees rallied to take the lead in the bottom of the eighth, and Ottavino became the pitcher of record. The right-hander has pitched 3.2 scoreless innings to start 2020. Ottavino will likely continue to see late-inning usage even when regular closer Aroldis Chapman (illness) returns to action.

Ottavino recorded a strikeout over a perfect five-pitch fifth inning in Sunday's 1-0 exhibition win over the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino was about as economical as possible in his fourth outing of the spring, retiring two hitters on first pitches and ringing up Adeiny Hechavarria on three strikes. The 34-year-old turned in a 1.90 ERA while serving as the Yankees' top setup man in his debut season with the team, but he struggled to keep runners off the bases, in large part due to an elevated 14.1 percent walk rate. He's shown much improved control so far in Grapefruit League play, posting a 5:1 K:BB in a four-inning sample.

Ottavino gave up one hit and struck out one through a scoreless 0.2 innings to record his second save in an 11-8 win over the Orioles on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino was called upon with the bases loaded and one out in the ninth inning, and even though he gave up a two-run single, he recovered to record the next two outs for his second save. Even though he gave up two runs in his last outing, Ottavino has his only two saves of the year within his last three outings. The 33-year-old has a 5-4 record with a 1.71 ERA through 56 appearances this season.

Ottavino worked around a base hit and struck out two over two scoreless innings to earn the save Tuesday in the Yankees' 9-4 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino put the finishing touches on the Yankees' bullpen game, retiring six of the seven hitters he faced in efficient fashion. The save was Ottavino's first of the season, a byproduct of manager Aaron Boone's preference to deploy Aroldis Chapman as a traditional closer. Ottavino still ranks among the league leaders in holds with 23 and has brought value in 5x5 formats thanks to his 1.41 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 51 innings.

Ottavino retired two of the three batters he faced in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Rays, securing his 21st hold of the season in the process. He walked and struck out a batter in the 15-pitch appearance.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino is now tied with Houston's Ryan Pressly for the MLB holds lead. After inking a three-year, $27 million deal with the Yankees in January, Ottavino has been the setup ace the club envisioned in front of closer Aroldis Chapman. Though his 1.33 WHIP and 6.3 BB/9 suggest he could struggle to maintain a sub-2.00 ERA, Ottavino's high strikeout rate (12.7 K/9) and ability to keep the ball in the yard (0.94 HR/9) should translate to success more often than not.

Ottavino (2-2) took the loss Thursday against the White Sox after recording just two outs. He allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Ottavino came in the seventh inning with the score tied, 4-4. The bulk of his damage came in the form of a go-ahead home run to Leury Garcia which gave the White Sox the lead for good. While Ottavino has given up homers in consecutive appearances, he still owns a 1.80 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 38:20 K:BB.

Ottavino was credited with a hold in the Yankees' 6-2 Friday victory over the Royals, striking out one and walking one over one scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander continues to be virtually lights-out coming out of the bullpen for the Yankees so far, as he's conceded just one earned run and four hits over his 10 innings to leave him with a minuscule 0.90 ERA to go along with 15 strikeouts. He picked up his third hold of the season in this contest, and so far he looks like he'll provide excellent ratios and high strikeout totals this year, much like he did with Colorado last season.
