Adam Jones 2019 Player Outlook: Over-the-Hill or Unlucky? rotoballer.com Thu 1/17/19 3:39 PM

Going into last season, Adam Jones had a reputation in the fantasy world for being boring, yet consistent and reliable. Between 2010 and 2017 Jones never hit below .265 or above .285, never hit fewer than 25 home runs or more than 33, and never had an OPS below .746 or above .839. However, the 33-year-old showed his first real signs of age-related decline in 2018. After hitting between 26 and 29 home runs from 2014-2017, Jones posted a just 15 bombs and a .138 ISO in 2018, his lowest totals sin[...]

2019 Outfielders - Early Fantasy Baseball Rankings rotoballer.com Tue 1/15/19 7:00 AM

Outfield is a unique position in the fantasy world. The best of the best reside in the outfield, with our consensus top two picks and nine of the top 25 overall players making this list. On the other hand, it is by far the deepest and easiest to gain late-round value if you choose to wait. That's why it's so important to determine exactly who to target at what point in your draft, especially in leagues that require four or five OF slots.[...]

Teoscar Hernandez - Promising or Pretender? rotoballer.com Fri 1/4/19 9:00 AM

Every new beginning signifies an end elsewhere. This was the case for Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez last season. The hard-hitting righty broke through in more ways than one in his first full year in the big leagues, finishing with a .239/.302/.468 line, and most importantly 22 home runs. The path to the plate wasnt clear-cut for Hernandez, though. An injury to Blue Jays' third baseman Josh Donaldson opened up a spot on the 25-man roster, but before that, expectations were tepid.[...]

Mets Meet With Adam Jones rotoballer.com Wed 12/12/18 2:22 PM

The New York Mets met with free-agent outfielder Adam Jones in Las Vegas at the winter meetings. Jones can still be a valuable veteran right-handed outfield bat for a club in need, but he's 33 years old and is no longer the stud offensive weapon he used to be in his prime with Baltimore. Jones put up a .281/.313/.419 slash line with 15 long balls, 63 RBI, 54 runs and seven stolen bases in 145 games with the O's last year. He's been durable in his career but runs very little at this stage of his [...]

The Cut List (Week 25): Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 9/16/18 8:00 AM

Welcome to Week 25 of the Cut List. This week I'm taking a look at Adam Jones, Carlos, Gonzalez, Odubel Herrera, and Starlin Castro.   All four players should be cut in most standard shallow formats. We're in the thick of the fantasy playoff season and we need to own players who are actually producing results. These four players are not.   Want some waiver wire advice to make up for those necessary cuts? Make sure you check out our waiver wire blog for the best pickup cons[...]

Adam Jones is Back in the Lineup on Friday rotoballer.com Fri 9/14/18 5:06 PM

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is back in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Jones has been a part-time player lately as the season closes out. The Orioles want to give their younger players more opportunities to play. Jones will play right field and bat third against righty James Shields. Shields has a 5.46 ERA over his last five starts, so Jones should be a strong option for DFS contests on Friday.

Adam Jones is Sitting Out on Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 9/13/18 5:27 PM

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Oakland Athletics. At this point in the season Jones has basically become a part-time player. The Orioles season has been horrible, so they want to get some younger players at-bats and prepare for next season. Joey Rickard will play right field and bat second versus lefty Brett Anderson. Rickard can be avoided for fantasy purposes.
