Week 26 MLB Closers and Saves Report rotoballer.com Fri 9/21/18 7:45 AM

Congrats on (probably) making it through the first week or two of the playoffs! I got knocked out in the first round because almost all of my hitters decided to pretty much take a week off from being on base. My closers did great though, so I'm still qualified to create this week's Closers and Saves Report, I guess don't bother asking me about hitters though (unless you want to know how to get your hitters to combine for a .162 batting average and one home run throughout a whole week!) Aroldi[...]

Holds Leagues - Waiver Wire Pickups and Adds for Week 23 rotoballer.com Fri 8/31/18 3:30 AM

While holds are even tougher to predict than saves, the players we'll highlight today include some elite setup men to target off the waiver wire in Week 23. One-inning middle relievers are the constant sources for holds and specialists can manage to secure a hold even with one out. However, while specialists can get many holds, their fantasy value is limited to how effective they are in their specific role. Long relievers are not a strong source of holds, they are often used in emergency or m[...]

Week 20 MLB Closers and Saves Report rotoballer.com Fri 8/10/18 3:45 AM

The dust finally settled after the trade deadline, and teams are starting to set their bullpens and pitching rotations up for the stretch run. Things can still change with waiver claims and post-deadline waiver trades, but any big names that were going to move already have. Brad Hand is settling in nicely in the Cleveland bullpen, Brad Ziegler is having a hard time in Arizona, and Brandon Kintzler hasn't allowed a run as a Cub yet. In non-deadline news, we saw a fill-in closer get hurt, so no[...]

Marlins Asking Price High On Relievers rotoballer.com Wed 7/25/18 12:48 PM

The Miami Marlins are asking a lot for relief pitchers Kyle Barraclough, Adam Conley and Drew Steckenrider, with all three under team control for multiple years. MLB.com's Joe Frisaro believes that of the three, Conley could be the most realistic to be dealt. The Red Sox, Astros, Dodgers and others would be interested. The Marlins told Boston that third baseman Michael Chavis or pitcher Jay Groom, the team's top two prospects, wouldn't be enough. Outfielder Derek Dietrich, starting pitcher Dan S[...]

Braves Discussing Marlins Relievers rotoballer.com Mon 7/23/18 11:34 AM

The Atlanta Braves have discussed Miami Marlins relievers, which could include closer Kyle Barraclough and relief pitchers Drew Steckenrider or Adam Conley. Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos is known to be looking for controllable players if they are going to move talent from their farm system. It's unclear if any of the Marlins relievers would be in line for saves over A.J. Minter or Arodys Vizcaino in Atlanta. Barraclough is probably the most attractive, but it's unclear if Miami would w[...]

Adam Conley Pitches Two Scoreless Innings in Win rotoballer.com Sun 7/8/18 1:38 PM

Miami Marlins relief pitcher Adam Conley threw two innings of scoreless relief while striking out four to earn a win against the Nationals on Sunday. Conley now has a 3-1 record on the season with a 3.32 ERA and a 26/9 K/BB ratio. Conley has been solid since his permanent move to the bullpen, and has drawn some interest on the trade market. If he is moved to a team who is willing to let him close, or even return to a starting role, Conley could be a player to watch in deeper leagues.
