Yankees optioned LHP Aaron Laffey to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Laffey threw three innings Saturday in his first game for the Yanks after being claimed off waivers Friday. He'll be back in September.

Yankees claimed LHP Aaron Laffey off waivers from Mariners. Designated for assignment on Wednesday, Laffey is expected to join the Yankees on Saturday. He's been roughed up for a 4.01 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 42 2/3 major-league innings this season, and has allowed lefties to hit .250 off of him. He'll have to do better to stick in the Yankees bullpen.

Mariners designated LHP Aaron Laffey for assignment. He was cleared to make room for the newly-acquired Chance Ruffin on the 40-man roster. Laffey, 26, has a 4.01 ERA and 24/16 K/BB ratio over 42 2/3 innings with the Mariners this season, all in relief. He could draw interest from other teams.

Mariners recalled LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Tacoma. Laffey was just sent down to the minors on Saturday, but he didn't throw a pitch during his time with Tacoma. The 26-year-old southpaw has a 3.54 ERA and 23/15 K/BB ratio over 40 2/3 innings in the big leagues this season.
