Roster Minimums are not enforced. Teams that do not meet roster minimums should not be able to add players at other positions until the roster minimum is met. Currently they are allowed to do this, although my league settings are selected to enforce the roster minimums. Illegal lineups should be locked from earning points that week, until all roster minimums are met.
Players involved in trades should be locked to original roster until entire trade can be completed. One trade was invalidated because a team dropped a player, the team was dropping in a trade. Teams can use this to there advantage and gain the ability to cancel a trade they previous agreed to. Also Trades, should not be put through, until all players involved are unlocked. Thursday games are the problem here. This created a few problems in my league this year.
We don't prohibit teams from getting points when their roster is below the minimum, but we do restrict them from making roster changes until the issue is resolved. The latter is what the "enforce roster minimums" rule achieves. If you are seeing behavior to the contrary, please send us the examples and we'll be happy to take a look.
We agree with you that the ability to drop a player named in a trade is a problem as it will invalidate the trade before it finalizes. Therefore, we are looking to add a feature in the future that will allow commissioners to prohibit this and lock down the players named in the trade. And you are right -- trading can be problematic particularly because of the Thursday games. We'll take a look at your suggestion as a possible solution -- thank you for posting it!
I have attached a screenshot of roster in question during week 4. His lineup is missing a DL. But he was allowed to add players at other positions. When he dropped the DL he should be forced into adding a DL to his roster before being allowed to add players at other positions. This team should not be able to do anything to his current roster until minimums are met. Because of this flaw in my league defensive players are not that valuable, however teams can go below roster minimums to hold players at other positions, if they decide to cut defensive players or players at other positions. Creating a advantage for their limited bench spots. Ilegal lineups should not exist if The Enforce League Roster Minimums works properly. If you need I can screen shot his transcations but im hoping you can access through the league link below. Thanks for your help!
