Java is getting quite outdated as a platform -- plus it isn't supported well off of Windows. Now that there is an HTML5 optimized site, is there any plans to rebuild the draft application as well?
Yes, we've addressed it a few times in some threads, but all of our resources and focus for new development is going into getting the draft room out of Java and rebuilding the draft. This will likely accommodate auctions and much more draft room features we may be lacking.
This is tops on our priority and agenda and will be done soon; no imminent timetable, but you won't have to worry about this next year (in all likelihood, no promises, but we feel very strongly about moving out of Java too and believe it will get done sooner than later). So there's a lot to look forward to and be excited about.
We're sorry for anyone who experienced Java issues this year.
This is great news. I look forward to the revamped draft experience next season.
any announcements for this year? progress?
While we don't have a timetable, it's tops on our agenda and we're currently testing and working on it for a hopeful deployment in the near future. We're making progress every day.
We'll keep you updated when it's ready on our Site Announcements page like always. Thanks.
Any progress on this? We're getting very close to draft season now.
