You will get many converts if you are the first site ever to.....
Make it so when a player is injured it auto places the next player on the bench.
I have always been confused about this, in real football if a running back gets injured, their back up goes in. This is how it should be in fantasy football, here is how it would work:
At whatever time the players was injured, say 11 minutes in the 1st quarter, than the person on the players bench (highest up on their bench) would start tracking points for the game they were in starting at the same time 11 minutes in the the first quarter.
If the first player returned for some reason, then it would go back to them being the starter.
This would MAKE PLAYERS set both their starting lineup, and their bench starting lineup. It would also prevent people from holding onto a lot of one position, for instance if you have 6 running backs and no 2nd tight end, guess what your tight end gets injured, you have no one to go in for them.
The dynamics of the game would change in such a GREAT WAY. I believe if a site does this, they will get worldwide publicity.
WOW....that is a great point. My only possible thought is that there is a red symbol next to a player if they were injured in a game (then it becomes green if they are probable). Maybe this feature would not happen during live scoring but would adjust on Monday night after all the games.
But even at that, you bring up a good point, it may be improbable.
"If the first player returned for some reason, then it would go back to them being the starter."
In other words it would work off the same time stamp, if they came back with 3 minutes left in the third, than the points would switch back.
It might be a little tricky to set up but all the information is already coded in the stats. Once set up I think people would switch, if you had a site that did it, would you go play there? It is just taking Fantasy to the next level and with some people having played for years and years, it will give them a new challenge
The main problem is this: How will the system know whether or not a substitution is due to injury or a coach's decision? Are the Patriots, for example, going to give you accurate information?

I addressed that in the post.

This would be nearly impossible to implement. What if an injured player comes back?

Awesome idea. I have run a league that has back-ups but only if your starter doesn't generate any points.
