esteemed gentleman of fleaflicker! i find myself in dire straits in one of my leagues in regards to the running back position and am in need of some assistance! i must start two RBs this week, and have a rag tag crew of pedestrian fantasy backs to choose from. due to the lack of consistency, it is imperative to base the call off of the strength/weaknesses of the matchup in which one of these plodding chaps can utilize their limited faculties to assert their unshakable will upon their vaunted adversary. my problem arises in selecting said matchup in which two of these strapping lads shall tote the rock for my fictional organization this coming week of spirited yet fantastical competition. i come to you as humble peasant of this great land gentlemen, please excuse the prickish tone of this post and lend your fellow a helping hand! cheers! also, she be a PPR league
Joique Bell, Ryan Matthews, Roy Helu, Peyton Hillis
Holy Cow! You are hurting at RB's if thats all you have. how many team league are you in? Mathews for sure and then probably Bell. Hillis I wouldnt even have on my team.
16 team dynasty my goodman! i sat on backs in the draft intending to build my roster around the strength of my WRs and drew brees. unfortunately, both of my projected starters (ahmad bradshaw and andre brown) went down with injury. still would have been hurting at the position, but I surely wouldn't have been in the precarious situation i find myself in now.
thanks for the feedback though sir! your advice has certainly bolstered my spirits as i was leaning towards mathews with the jags matchup and bell has been my 2 since week 3.
with 16 teams your waiver wire has to suck big time. I would keep Bell, Mathews, and Helu. Check out the wire if any one of these players are there, I would drop Hillis and pick them up in Hopes they get a chance. Jordan Todman from Jacksonville, Lance Dunbar from Dallas, or Kenjon Barner from Carolina. If any one of these guys gets a chance they could help you out alot. Watch the MJD trade rumors, if he gets traded pick up Todman
indeed my fellow! to call it "lackluster" would be a gross over-exaggeration that would not do justice to the ubiquitous sparsity that comprises the despairingly awful free agent pool. as it is a dynasty league, rosters consist of 25 players so i'm afraid those players are already on teams unfortunately. signing peyton hills this week was about as good as i could do for the short term, hoping he gets same quantitive touches during his short tenure with the flailing Giants.
I'd go with Mathews as the nominal starter with a good matchup, and Helu over Bell since he's been producing as well over the last couple of weeks and has a better matchup.
thanks for the response my good man! i definitely have mathews locked in the starting lineup at this point. i have been debating starting helu over bell as well due to the recent production which you have referred to and bell being at less than 100%. he certainly is an intriguing prospect moving forward as Washington's primary receiving/3rd down back.
