Depending on the situation, the phrase "returning player/owner" can allude to a variety of ideas, mostly in relation to professional sports or video games.
The primary interpretations are as follows:
In Online Worlds and Video Games
A returning player is someone who has started playing a game again after being inactive for a considerable amount of time (usually one month or longer). To entice players to return, game creators frequently provide special rewards or "catch-up" features such: Free goods or money (like deck packs in Hearthstone).
They can swiftly catch up to the current game material by having access to exclusive "returner" events or accelerated progression.
In this case, the term "owner" could mean several things:
A gamer who returns to oversee their private server.
A player who owns persistent objects or buildings (such as a base or guild) in-game and returns to discover that they are either undamaged or require upkeep.
In sports and business, a player-owner is a person who owns a portion of a club or franchise in addition to being an active member of the team.
Although it has happened in the past, most notably with Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL, this position is uncommon in contemporary professional sports leagues.
Andy Carroll, a former professional football player, just joined Dagenham & Redbridge FC as a player-owner.

I've been absent for 4 years dealing with burnout. I've reached the point where I am willing to try a couple of leagues here again.
What I would like are a dynasty league with Individual Defensive Players and a keeper league that is not completely basic.
If there are commissioners here that would be willing to give a long time player a hand back into the game I would appreciate it.
