Always have divisions, usually four teams in each. In this setup, you can also name the divisions what you want instead of just the generic "Division 1" and Division 2." What this does is allow for mediocre teams to have a chance at making the playoffs even late in the season if they can win their division.
How many teams is your league going to have?
The difference between "keeper" and "redraft": with redraft all teams start with zero players next year. With keeper, you can keep (protect) some players as a core, then redraft all the others. As a commissioner, you decide how many keepers. Most keeper leagues set up 3-6 per team. Some do just one player.
Make sure your draft is "live" and a "snake" format. "Live" means it actually happens at a time and date you decide. "Snake" means the next round goes in reverse order as the previous round. For example: whoever picks last in the first round picks first in the second round. This makes it so the first teams to select don't get loaded up.
The way I have my league is one big league of 8 teams! we play each other twice and the top 4 teams play each other in the playoffs. This way we are all done by week 16 so when teams rest their players in week 17 it wont hurt anyone. Good luck to you Ladies and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My girls and I are doing fantasy for the first time and I've been chosen to set everything up, I'm just confused about a couple things:
When creating the league....
what is the difference between lifetime (Keeper vs. Redraft)
what is the difference between type (H2H Points, Total Points and Roto)
What are the pros and cons of each.
And any other advice you can give me would be great!!!
Thanxx!!

Suggestion of league lineup format:
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 Flex (either RB or WR)
1 TE
1 K
1 Def
7 bench
