How do you set up scoring for defense that is similar to ESPN? I am getting confused by the setup. I would like the team to start with 10 points and decrease by points allowed and yards allowed.
We have a small defensive league. The teams start with points based on a 0-0 score and add or subtract based on ints, fumbles, TDs and so-forth ... you might find some ideas in the rules we use.
3 points for every Interception D/ST
2 points for every Sack D/ST
3 points for every Fumble Recovered D/ST
2 points for every Safety D/ST
6 points for every Defensive TD D/ST
3 extra points for every Defensive TD of 20 or more yards D/ST
5 extra points for every Defensive TD of 40 or more yards D/ST
7 extra points for every Defensive TD of 70 or more yards D/ST
1 point for every XP Blocked D/ST
3 points for every FG Blocked D/ST
1 extra point when total Offensive + Special Teams Points Allowed is less than or equal to 24 D/ST
2 extra points when total Offensive + Special Teams Points Allowed is less than or equal to 17 D/ST
4 extra points when total Offensive + Special Teams Points Allowed is less than or equal to 10 D/ST
6 extra points when total Offensive + Special Teams Points Allowed is less than or equal to 3 D/ST
1 extra point when total Net Passing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 200 D/ST
2 extra points when total Net Passing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 175 D/ST
4 extra points when total Net Passing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 150 D/ST
6 extra points when total Net Passing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 125 D/ST
1 extra point when total Net Rushing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 150 D/ST
2 extra points when total Net Rushing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 125 D/ST
4 extra points when total Net Rushing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 100 D/ST
6 extra points when total Net Rushing Yards Allowed is less than or equal to 75 D/ST
note: the "extra" points are what the team starts with (in the 30s too lazy to add them up) and as the defense gives up points the "extra" points go down. The INTs, TDs and other points add to the teams score. With these point designations the Final scores can range from near zero to more than 40.
