So Slaton vs BUF and K. Smith vs STL have extremely favorable match-ups this week and I'm thinking about starting both ahead of T. Jones. C. Benson on the bye. Is this a stupid idea?

Keep in mind that Jones has not fared well against tough match-ups (single-digit games against NE and TEN). If not for two short yardage TDs against MIA last time they met, he would have ended up with only 42 yards...eww. I'm a bit paranoid about Shonn Greene's role in the offense now too.

What do you think?

Thanks!

I think Jets could rely on the physical Greene in this one a bit more than expected. I like your gut feeling -- Smith and Slaton.

I think you should go with your origional gut feeling. Slaton and Smith....Slaton will make up for whatever is lost in run yardage with pass yardage. Especially if that's a PPR league.

Wow...thanks for the comments guys. I like the debate. I feel like Slaton has such as strong match-up at BUF and the way that Schaub has been throwing the ball, I think BUF D will be forced to try to shut that down which might mean more opportunities for Slaton.

NFL.com has him as the start of the week and the ESPN rankings have him 3rd. This is really tough.

I'm definitely leary of K. Smith in DET. I just don't trust that offense but the match-up is mighty tasty and he has done fairly well this season. He's the guy there so that makes it more attractive than a co-op.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm sure I'll be back here facing the old "I told you so" from Rick after this week :-) He already got me with Ryan vs. Romo...I should have known.

Drivie,

WOW, don't do that!!

Slaton is facing a very good run D in Buffalo!!! Look at the numbers for their D!!

Jones is still going to get touches just like it was was Washington was playing, it might flip flop and Greene get the start, but in todays NFL, two back always better than one!!

Go with Smith and Jones!! JMO!!

What???!!! Buffalo is giving up 172 yards per game rushing!!! They are dead last in run defense!!! Jones is playing against Miami!!! They are the fourth ranked rush defense!!!

Drivie - Put Jones on the pine!!! In your other thread you were contemplating trading Slaton, but I think you could trade away Jones while his value is still really high and get that stud WR you are looking for!!! Do it!!!

!!!

My mistake, was for pass D, but they are a Bills D ranked 4th and when the pass is shut down so does the run. Granted they let teams get 200 yards on the ground in 3 of 4 games recently, but bottom line Slaton is hit and miss and The bills do have their star linebacker back from a broken arm!!

This is your pick and still stand by what I said. There are numerous fantasy writers picking the Bills D to shine!!

Miami may have the 4th ranked rush D, but they crumbled under NO and the same should happen with the Jets with Jones and Greene in the backfield and Shachez passing game!!
