I'm writing to ask everyone for some honest opinions... I run a 12 team league in which you get to choose any two players off your roster from the prior year to the next year. Everyone would like to starting trading future years draft picks, but I have no idea how I can do this, and keep trades fair for all involved. I don't want any stacked teams to ruin the current years season, but at the same time think it would be a nice added feature. If anyone has any serious ideas that I can look into maybe using in future seasons I'd appreciate the help very much. thanks in advance for everyone's help!
Trading future draft picks is a BIG part of keeper leagues like yours. It keeps teams that are having a bad year involved, because they have the opportunity to prioritize their current players, and turn the players they don't plan on keeping into something useful in the future. Also, it allows teams that want a better chance at winning now to adress weaknesses on their team in exchange for sliding down the draft order a little next year. I'm not sure about what you're asking, but if you want to know if trading future draft picks should be allowed, I say absolutely, ESPECIALLY in a keeper league.
