I asked this in the other forum too but not sure if the guys answering here are different or not. Anyway...
I'm trying to improve my starting WR lineup. I've been offered Manningham for Slaton. Does this sound like a decent trade?
My current RBs: C. Benson, T. Jones, S. Slaton, K. Smith, P. Thomas and J. Jones
My current WRs: C. Johson, M. Colston, P. Garcon, D. Avery, H. Nicks and J. Knox
I feel like Garcon, Avery, Nicks and Knox are spot players and not full-time starters like Colston and Johnson. Looking for another one of those. Is Manningham that guy?
I wouldnt do it. Manningham has been a bit dinged up, and with Hakeem Nicks finally getting healthy, he might see his touches diminished. I suspect he will end up being the deep threat with the occasional big game, while Nicks and Smith are the constant producers.
After 2 miserable games to start the season, Slaton has been very solid over his last 4 games. With that depth at RB, you can afford to trade him, but I would try to get someone with better long term prospects than Manningham.

dont do it!
smith will have more then mannington plus your rb needs help. slaton perfect for it.

No, I didn't make that trade.
I'm now trying to get Welker for Slaton instead. Not sure if the other owner will go through with that one but seems much more equitable.
On the other hand, I'll just play him this week if the trade falls through.

I think Welker is a much better return for Slaton, that seems fair if he will do it. And with the RBs you have, I think you can spare Slaton.

Hope you didn't pull trigger on trade, man that was some game by Slaton, and a bit unexpected against a stout SF defense
TD_HerreraSun 10/25/09 12:11 PM
I'd definitely rather have Slaton than Manningham, who will be inconsistent

Thanks for the well-worded response. You make some very good points. I may try to aim higher with Slaton for another WR if I decide I need one.

do it

Thanks. Any reasoning behind your answer?
