well i noticed he was going to be the starter for the cards.... so i picked him up... do you think hell put up decent points at the wr/rb/te position or did i waste my time?
No, Hightower wont put up decent numbers..He's a glorified goaline back, hence his pathetic 2.7 avg last year..If Beanie can beat the injury bug, he'll eventually take over the #1 role.
Cardinals last year were the worst in the NFL in rushing yards per game less than 75 and the least amount of attempts of all 32 teams. Their longest running play was 35 yards....statistics can be your friend.
Look at his avg yards per carry last yr, I think it was 2.7 or something low...Cards drafted Beanie 4 a reason..Hightower is only as good as Beanie is bad if you know what i mean (GL Carries). Good luck with him! I stayed very, very far away from him in my drafts.
Pretty good for a waiver wire PU, but he will definately lose carries to Wells down the road and probably GL carries early, and dont forget the Cards pass happy O....In my opinion theres more gems on the wire.
Short-term, I think he can be solid as a RB2 --- especially in a Week 1 matchup with San Francisco, but long-term I expect Beanie Wells to get back into the mix (injury slowed him a bit), so Hightower will be inconsistent later down the line.
oh and by the way awesome feature.... itll help some of the rooks and people that didnt really understand their first year like me... i dont think i even knew i had a team last year and now just getting into it
Thanks, glad we could help! I think Edge could swipe some goal-line TDs and receiving yards, but I'm not relying on him as anything more than an RB4 or RB5 -- only valuable in really deep leagues. They've stated Julius Jones is still their feature back and Edge is more change-of-pace. Keep a close eye on James Davis, who could steal carries from Jamal Lewis as the season progresses, and I really like Glen Coffee in San Fran as well should anything happen to Gore.
Here are 4 I like that I don't see getting drafted a lot:
Josh Morgan-he looks like he's stepped up in SF and Shaun Hill will get him the ball.
Earl Bennett-He played with Cutler at Vandy, so they know each other, he's in his 3rd year, and Hester will take a lot of the defense's attention.
Ted Ginn/Greg Camarillo-Ginn's in his third year and Camarillo averaged 5 catches/game before he got hurt. He's Pennington's favorite receiver, and Pennington is showcasing himself for next year.

He's a solid RB4/bye week option, especially at the beginning of the season. That's about it, though, because Wells is the anointed starter.
