I am looking for opinions on something. I have been the commish of my league for 3 years now and have had a rule in place that the last week to add/drop free agents is week 14, the end of the regular season. My theory was you have 14 weeks to fine tune your roster an preparation of making a 2 week playoff run. This was not an issue until this year when an owner's 2 QB's were determined to be out for the week 15 matchup. The rules were clear and I even provided notice 1 month ago that this was approaching.
Has anyone ever seen such a deadline for add/drops? Does this seem reasonable?
Please provide opinions as I am trying to create the best league experience that I can.
I have the same deadline. That's why you have bench players. You go to the dance with what you brought. My fellow owners like it that way. But you might want to put it to a vote to your fellow owners so the issue is agreed upon by the ENTIRE league.
You can either keep it hands off/cut & dried/rule is clear approach, or you could expand your role to make an injured player transaction. If I come to you with a questionable key player you make a ruling that for that week I cannot use that player and I am allowed one roster move. I can keep the injured guy or drop him it's up to me

You could allow a transaction under extreme circumstances. Perhaps allow the team in need to pick up the injured player's NFL backup if available.

I think your right on. Yes,It seems reasonable. But there is a flaw in the
system that you can do it the next week if you continue in the playoffs.
It a disappointment to the roster churner or a team who had injuries on
that specific week.
