This is the most recent Rotoballer update on Burns. It mentions him as a linebacker a couple times. He had a good game yesterday and I didn't see him playing inside.
"New York Giants linebacker Brian Burns (groin) is officially active on Sunday for the Week 3 game on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Burns was a late addition to this week's injury report with a groin injury and was listed as questionable to play this weekend. However, it appears he was able to do enough during pre-game warmups to convince the coaching staff that he's good enough to play against Cleveland as the G-Men look for their first victory of 2024. The 26-year-old is New York's starting outside linebacker and should be in all starting lineups in IDP leagues now that he's officially active..."
While it's not a "massive advantage" in my league that has ILs, because I ensure my league scoring has as much positional equality as reasonably possible (so for example, it doesn't matter if Taysom Hill is a QB, RB, WR or TE), the 6'5 250lbs BRIAN BURN IS AN EDGE RUSHER OR OUTSIDE LINEBACKER. There is no place other than Fleaflicker that has him listed as DE in a 3-4 or IL. MAKE THE CORRECTION!!
In an ESPN article last week about Burns, it mentions his: "five-year, $141 million deal that makes him the highest-paid edge rusher in 2024 when he will pocket $43.5 million"
He started out as a DE and now he has been changed to a LB. This really sucks seeing on how I am in a salary league and he cost me good money as a DE. I drafted great linebacker so now with this move I get screwed. Isnt this like changing a rule in the middle of the season? In baseball when a guy is a 1B at the start of the season and plays a number of games at 3rd he becomes eligible at both 1B and 3B. Why not in football?

Comish has him and for some reason, he’s listed as an IL which will give him a massive advantage. How can this position be corrected asap

Sorry about that! We'll have this updated shortly.
He's a WLB in a 3-4 defense so he should have LB/EDR eligibility

He’s DE/IL because he’s now in a 3-4 scheme. Your league has EDR but not DE eligibility

So why isn’t say Joey Bosa IL eligible then if the chargers play a 3-4? Or any edge rusher for that matter that plays in a 3-4

Brian Burns obviously should be LB/EDR.
MonteMTue 9/10/24 12:55 PM
He plays the majority outside LB in the 3-4.

Nobody is paying that kind of money to ILs!!!

Is he going to get dual positions soon?
