Yes, appears there is a glitch in system. The Montgomery team owner is trying to drop a RB for another RB but it won't allow him because it says he's over the allowed 5 max RB positions. Even though he currently has 5 RB's and has Montgomery as a receiver.
Will this be corrected so he can put his waiver claim in (dropping one RB for another one)?
Fleaflicker. Need to fix Ty Montgomery so that he only fills one roster slot. ASAP. Waiver claims will be messed up. Don't let this be an embarrassment.
Fleaflicker never does a primary position for dual players - it was all inclusive. It works the same for the other fantasy sports on here (especially basketball and baseball).
All inclusive, but that makes no sense. If you're going to add dual eligibility mid season, then do it right or don't do it at all. Case in point, TY was already rostered by Team A. He had 5 RB's and 4 WR's (Ty being a WR). Our league has roster limitations of 5 RB's and 4 WR's MAX or 4 RB's and 5 WR's. Point being, before the dual eligibility, his roster was legal. Now with dual eligibility, his roster is illegal? So he can't drop a RB to add another RB. As commissioner, do I force him now to drop a RB for a WR since his roster is now technically illegal? When before the dual eligibility, his roster was legal? Makes no sense.
If you're going to provide dual eligibility, do it right or don't do it at all. We shouldn't have to "work around the system" to keep things running smoothly.
Duality decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, looking at different criteria. We updated Montgomery after Green Bay used him consistently as a RB in the last game and it appears they intend to do the same this week. Sites like ESPN Fantasy and Rotoworld also updated Montgomery with duality. (espn.com)
Unfortunately, there is a known complexity with any players with duality -- the player will be counted agains the max settings for each position. This is the same across all of our sports. Duality is actually quite common in the NHL, NBA and MLB, but hybrid positions are less common in the NFL. In the future, we hope to offer an option where players with duality can be locked in one position or the other in order to avoid these complexities.
Commissioners can decide if the situation warrants an adjustment to the maximum settings for RBs and/or WRs given the situation via League Settings > Edit Roster Requirements. Some commissioners are making an adjustment but letting the league know that the bump up to the max can only be used for players with duality.
Also, we are letting commissioners know that if they have custom scoring rules set up that apply different scores for RBs vs. WRs, players with duality may have both rules count. As commish, what you can do is to let the owner know that you are going to adjust the their final box score (League Settings > Edit Past Box Scores) to subtract the extra points when the box scores are finalized on Tuesdays.
Our apologies if this update has posed any challenges for your roster or your league!
Can you provide a little more detail? What exactly will you need to add RB eligibility? Is it like Yahoo who needs to see the packers update the team roster on their website?
After last night's game, he looks like a consistent starting RB (lined up more in the backfield than out wide, first carry of the game, goal line work, and Aaron Rodgers saying after the game "he's a running back now")
Looks pretty consistent to me, and the longer we wait, the longer owners who want to and should be able to start him at RB are missing out on games they should be winning
So now he counts against both the WR and RB max roster limits? Crazy. I picked him up as a WR, not he's a WR/RB and that invalidated my #1 waiver claim somehow. Also, if he counts as a RB, then technically I now have 7 RB on my roster. What about Randall Cobb, Terrelle Pryor, Sproles, Edelman or other players who line up at alternate positions? What is the line at which position duality is defined?
PLEASE CHANGE!! If Ty Montgomery is a WR/RB please change the settings for that to count only against 1 position of our choice not BOTH WR and RB. That does not make any sense. 1 player should not cost 2 spots in a line up. Please change ASAP so I can update my roster.
As commissioner of my league, I had no choice but to take matters into my own hands on this one since it seems Fleaflicker isn't willing to correct the "glitch". What I did was expand the RB and WR max roster slots to 6 (from previously 5) in order to "fool" the system. I sent an email out to all the league owners that I was doing this in order to rectify the Montgomery dilemma and that the roster expansion wasn't to be exploited by adding extra players.
It's a shame we have to do it this way but since Fleaflicker can't/won't rectify the issue, this seems to be the only solution for now.
This is a tough one because I just dropped a RB off my bench to make room for a WR off my IR - now I cannot do that because I have Ty counting against both my RB & WR roster limits. It would have been nice to know this PRIOR to picking him up off waivers! - When a Player is tagged as a dual position it should be noted that this player will count against BOTH eligible roster spot counts! I'm still curious why FF or other sites cannot just add an # of Eligible WR/RB positions to the Roster Setup Options?
We as Commissioners could then set our WR & RB limits along with WR/RB limit - So instead of the current 6 + 6 I could choose to set this up as 5+5 and +2 for WR/RB - this would deal with the Dual player status and allow owners a mix option of 5WR / 5RB and up to TWO either dual status players or RB or WR - essentially a team could opt for 7 WRs and 5 RBs or visa versa - either way doesn't matter but it cures the double dipping of a Dual status player.

Its possible montgomery might get the start at RB thursday. Will he gain eligibility before Thursdays game?
budweiser18Tue 10/25/16 9:14 PM
Please change it back to either RB or WR. Cannot pick him up in our league due to min and max for RB or WR positions.
BrewbirdsWed 10/26/16 9:23 AM
ESPN Fantasy has him as RB, Rodgers says he is RB. Its great to be able slot him 3 ways but not at the cost of 2 slots. Dropping him now.

I need to know this as well. if added, does he take a RB spot and a WR spot? That would be unfortunate.
tnmarauderTue 10/25/16 4:36 PM
If he does thats just stupid

In my case, I am trying to add him as a RB but it won't let me unless I drop a WR (saying I am already at the maximum of 5 WR).

Hello,
We aren't likely to make the change unless it looks like he will be a consistent starting RB. Thanks for reaching out to ask!

TY for RB!
